1199R trackbike project.

Discussion in 'Builds & Projects' started by kope999R, Jan 16, 2013.

  1. work on the clip on is the crew building the bike. the master at work.. seeing that the brakelines were not ok.. it took exactly 7 minutes to remove the triple and rearrange the mastercylinder, brakelines and clip on so it was safe... some pitstop.. and some pit! :)

another shoddy job from a now defunct antwerp Dealer...

  2. So the 999r is being sold? Looks lovely. Why not keep it?

  6. Brave guy, running it in on a dyno and posting it up...hope you don have later warranty issues:smile:

  7. I've run out of tissue!

  8. was done according to Ducati instructions by the dealer... :) no risks here...

this break in is how it should be done, with lot of pulling and downshifting to certain revs. ( 6K) riding same pace for 1000 km is not good. something to do with setting to close the valves completely , i was told...

    I am really! Very jealous.

  11. Big van, well equipped kit, awesome bike, bling like a BSB bike...but most of all you have a radiator in your garage! Now THAT is something special :upyeah:

  12. R seat is not the DP racing seat.
it is (just?) the standard seat covered in the DP raing seat tissue.

having done 280 km in the freezing cold and shod in the Multi suit i noticed that my legs were pritty cramped with the DP rear sets higher up... i blamed it on the touratech suit and the heavy all weather boots.. picking up the papers i sat on a standard pani without the DP rearset and the DP racing seat... i also did not remember the aragon test being so folded up...

then i noticed that the DP race seat was significantly higher. then it was confirmed that the R seat, altough named a reace seat is in fact not a race seat but the standard seat with the cover of the DP seat...

so i had to buy the DP seat to get a bit of comfort... not very happy about that, but problem solved..

she's at 380 km now! and loosening up nicely...

  13. Christ thats a major difference in height going by those two photo's Kopey

  14. Saw an R at Snells today. Very nice.

  15. well ,Peter, it is and it does feel it..

    with hindsight :

i liked the seatingposition from the stock pritty much at Aragon (DRE) , just not the slippery pegs themselves.
so i got the DP rear set to get the grippier and fancier ones. As they are higher, i had to raise the seat to get same legroom. this rises my back and loads the arms and shifts weight forward. the Bar risers scheduled for the forks will counter balance that but i'll be higher up.. so all i should have done is change the slippery pegs... :) ... or how to waste 1 K ... :)

  16. The R seat isn't available as an aftermarket part... Yet, I'm toying with either the race seat or the R when they're available

  17. Just a little tip, if you are transporting only one bike in a van I always put close to the bulkhead rather than at the back between the wheels as there is less bounce towards the front from the suspension so a steadier ride for your pride an joy.

  20. Quick update, you can now order the R seat from your dealer around £125, race seats are out of stock at the factory and are circa £160
