1199 1199s Full System

  1. I've been through the full process, from stock cans to Termi slip ons then to full system. I only ride on the road so my opinions are based purely on that. Some will say you don't need to do anything as 195hp is more than enough and the stock cans are loud enough etc etc which is a fair point well made as the Termi cans by themselves aren't much louder if any louder at all, but they do sound deeper in tone and you don't really appreciate the sound fully till you get over 7k then the grin factor kicks in. Termi cans do smooth the power delivery at low revs and give a slight improvement in power and torque, also they eliminate the power surging you get whilst riding at a constant speed in fast moving traffic such as on the motorway. This may be more to do with the revised engine fuelling you get when you install the Upmap that comes with the cans. The biggest and most dramatic difference though is when you go from Termi end cans to full system with the larger 70mm header pipes and full system Upmap. The bike becomes even smoother at lower speeds, although the heat generated from the increased size of pipe work really can become uncomfortable if you get stuck in traffic, but isn't much more of a problem than the stock pipes when moving. There is a lot more torque and power across the range, most noticeable during the mid range. I find this means you can be more flexible with power use, you can use the torque rather than revs for quick sprinting when overtaking for example. As far as fuel consumption is concern I can't say I've noticed any difference but to be honest I don't really monitor it. There could be an argument to say it may actually improve fuel effiencey in road riding, mine anyway as I tend to use the torque more than revving the bike harder to produce power and speed. I think the question to the OP is do you feel like spending £950 is justified, everyone has a different idea about this. In my opinion yes. If your bike didn't have the free Termi cans would you have bought some? I suspect the answer would be yes so the fact you have free end cans means you can use the money for the headers instead. I'd go for it, personally I've never looked back or had any regrets about spending the extra. :upyeah:

  3. :D
Exactly! It's not about saving money it's about having more money to spend on other things.:D

  4. Big M, I do completely agree with your argument, I went from stock to full system on my old 848 evo and the improvement was noticeable even to a mere mortal like myself.
Well I phoned dealer today and said sod it go ahead and fit full system.
Oh and I like your logic too not sure its right but it will do :)
