  4. Had both buy the 1299 cos it's faster more power more torque better electrics blipper wheelie control corner abs and does all that alot smoother and easier to ride all ya have to do is have the tricolour wrap or the proper paint job put on the 1299 as it's only a paint job on the 1199

My 1299 with a paint job on ducati fairings was only a track bike but defo stood out from the rest of the stock red bikes

  5. It's going to be a 1299s. Just need to keep my eye out for a mint one with some added goodies.

  6. Whaaaaat? I'm not made of money :D

  7. Hard choice to make

  8. A lot of money for a re-spray. I would be worried about devaluing it. However, wheels would go from black to gold like the anniversio.

  9. Unlike @Exige

  10. :joy: Money? Nah, just bikes and skint here :yum

  12. I was in a similar situation to you some time ago. I had an 1199 for nearly 4 years, and anything below 50 60 on the road was uncomfortable. It was great on track though. The 1199 really comes alive after about 6-7k rpm and you rarely see that rpm on (sensible!) road riding.

The Tricolore is my favourite scheme, and luckily for me my local dealer had a 1299 with a Tricolore wrap albeit a few small differences. I bought the 1299 after selling the 1199 and it was a huge improvement all round! A lot more refined! The bike is much more enjoyable on road also.

The real Tricolores are special and I'm sure the look of it will please you more than the 1299. However, im not sure how long that feeling will last .. If it's your only bike and mainly for road use, it might start to get on your nerves compared to the 1299.

  13. Someone would do the wrap for about £300 and can be removed at any time

  15. Yep, the dealer had my Tricolore wrap done from theimageworks in Ilkeston. The cost was £250 (back in 2017).

  18. I ride an 899 track bike and adore riding it very hard.
A very decent fellow let me take out his 1299S at Cartagena. What an experience. It had so much electronic everything I was a bit confused to start with. As each lap went by it kept saying "why so slow? We can go a lot quicker".
We did. A lot quicker. I put him in fast group. First time I had been there as well.
So if you want a bike that does everything brilliantly, but you are a passenger, it's the 1299S. If you want to be the brain, go 1199.
You can paint a bike any colour you like.
I am trading my 899 for an 1199R.

  19. 1299, buy the ducati performance track body kit which is just unpainted oem panels.
Paint them anyway you like, keeping the originals for resale time. Double win.
