Ok, get some proper DE gold. Line the inside of exhaust heat shield, inside of subframe, u/s of seat, u/s or rear of tank, i/s of the plastic or carbon eng covers. i/s of the seat unit panels and the inside of the frame covers by knee and go for it. Oh and buy some monkey butt cycling pants. This works for me. It doesnt kill the heat but it becomes more manageable and less painful. Oh and get used to sticking knees out both sides at every oppurtunity to get some cool air. Dont buy cheap gold. Not worth it. You'll end up buying the good stuff anyways.
Looking at the other bikes that are going,…100% vote for the Busa, it’s the workhorse you need I use two bikes, Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX ..the “workhorse “ ..do all the big trips on this cos it’s the best tool for the job, cruise control, heated grips, hard panniers etc and more importantly, I’m not precious with it, don’t mind doing 150 miles in the rain and then leaving it overnight outside some dodgy hotel would you be happy doing that to your 1299s ? I think not! My Panigale is now a “ Showpony” kept for sunny weekend blasts, I’m more precious with this and I’m sure you’ll be the same with yours,…use the Busa, you know it’s the right decision
My neighbor has a 99 Busa, he’s done 132K mikes on it and it still looks mint. How many Ducatis will do those miles?
It wasn’t a dig a Ducati. Just asking how many of us will do that sort of mileage. A mate put 52k on his Multi before trading it in.
