So All sorted , I couldnt be bothered to find out which map sensor was faulty so I changed both and now it’s running perfect. So to summarise this thread i bekive inhad 2 problems , the first being the misfire at low rpm , changing the 2 main plugs leads cured that but it then showed a new fault where it’s was backfiring all through the Rev range , changing the map sensors cured that one great service from moto rapido as usual on parts . only things left to do now is the fuel tank level sender but they’re on back order
This may be too late to help you but the fuel gauge on my 2106 DVT stopped working, It showed empty all the time! I decided that I wanted to confirm that the sender was definitely faulty before I shelled out for a new one! After four days of remove/replace and test I found the problem was the float was being gently held at the bottom by the sealant used at the bottom of the tube. Either the sealant or the float had swollen due to the ethanol in the fuel. My solution was to trim the pointed end of the float to make it narrower and give some clearance between it and the sealant. It has been behaving it's self ever since and I held on to around 140 beer vouchers I hope this is useful.
