  1. Thanks Wayne, appreciated. I could fit easily I'm an Electrical Contractor!! hence the reason I have no time!!

  2. If you look at the picture of Wayne's GPS, above the GPS itself you'll see a right angled bracket. This is part of the RAM mount hardware. Part of this is the square plate I linked to I'm my post. This plate has four holes with a specific spacing (AMPS standard).

Zoom in on the m/c cradle to the left and you can just see that there are four holes. These corespond to the four holes in the plate mentioned above. If this kits is complete one of the bags will contain the machine screws and nuts to connect the two.

It's very likely your existing Garmin has the same arrangement, albeit with a different cradle. You should be able to remove your existing cradle and substitute the one from Wayne's kit and thus employ your existing mount.

You will, of course, have to connect the power feed for the cradle to a suitable switched live on your bike. Follow the feed for your existing Garmin and use that.

  4. thanks for this. Think I understand what you mean. so if i remove my cradle that contains the built in transformer? Wayne's kit has transformer as integral part of the cable?

Yep, looking at his image, which I've included above, the cradle is to the 10 o'clock position relative to the sat nav itself. The cable coming from that has a lump in it (immediately above the cradle), this is the transformer. There are bare wires from there and I recommend that these are connected to a switched feed as this will avoid a parasitic drain on your battery.

See if your current set-up has the rectangular AMPs plate, or at worst a 1 inch RAM ball mount. If not the former but the latter then just use the plate off the RAM bits included (directly above GPS in pic), the plate will separate from the lump shown to connect to yours.

The kit he's selling looks complete with all the bits you should need. Although the included handlebar clamp isn't ideal, if you have a better positioned RAM, or RAM compatible, mount then you'll be good to go.

  6. Cheers will have a closer look at my setup when I get the chance

  7. Assuming yours is branded Ducati, I think it fits the 390 mount. Post up a picture of your mount to be sure.

Have you tried removing the battery for an hour or so, then putting it back in and connecting to your pooter ?
You may well find its had a software crash and now wont wake up. Removing the battery will properly reset it, but it could have fecked its stored program, and need reprogramming using garmin express. I have had this happen once many year ago with mine.
If its not detected by your pooter at all and doesnt wake up, then it means it is probably terminal.

    Hope that helps.
