  1. It's crazy isn't it, but not the circuit's fault - it's the complaints from the local residents

Electric bikes only by the looks of it haha!

    Thanks - not looking good.

Its really infuriating that they seem to have two web sites that are completely different. I booked on this site , that mentions the 105db limit but doesn't provided the details of explicit problem bikes in your link above:

I think I'll just ask for my money back

  3. Just think how good it will be though when electric bike become the norm.

    24 hour open pit lane!

The electric bikes in junior motocross have opened up loads of places to run events.

  4. Yeah and aftermarket extras could include a speaker fitted to the E bike to imitate the exhaust noise of your favourite bike [emoji41]

  5. 103.3dB on a US959 exhaust (same as standard 1299 exhaust) without flapper valve at Bedford with MSV, but the testers were prepared for a fail (101dB day) and passes me to go on track.... Apparently they never trigger the ride-by monitors.

  6. +1. I took my 1199 with baffled Termis to Oulton last year, just for a noise test, as I don't live too far away. Noise tester told me not to bother getting it out of the van if it's not got a standard exhaust on it. A new rule, apparently; they won't even test it as they know it'll fail the drive-by. But that was early last year. Don't know if things have changed....

  7. An 899 and 1199 with Termis and baffles are being let out. Both tested around 103-105.... As a formality they check, but judge you solely on the ride-by test.

  8. That's good to know. Sounds like a bit of common sense is slowly filtering through

You WILL NOT get on at Castle Doom....shame as its a cracking little track.

  10. Was this today Jolley? Maybe I will take my 1199 on Tuesday then, it's a long way to drive back if I can't get on mind.

  11. For the sake of the greater good, someone with a 1199 or 1299 could go along on a Wednesday when CC are running a track day to get their bike tested - they don't charge. Then post and let everyone else know the result. I haven't taken my 1199 but my 999 track bike gets through on between 104 and 105. It's got a Termi 'banana' system fitted with some one-off dB killers fitted. A lot of bikes are ok but some are way over the top - CBR6 nudging 120 but you could just tell it was never going to happen.

  12. Yes, today at Bedford on a 101dB day. Every Panigale failed (899 standard, 899 Termi with baffles, 1199 Termi with baffles, and mine), but all were below 105dB, all were allowed on track, and none were black flagged for triggering the drive-by limit.
As others have said, warm it up well and try not to go over 5,000rpm at the test (obviously 4,800 sounds better than 5,500!). They have stopped trying to lean the bike and mess around, and have accepted that they are still quiet enough out on track. That isn't to say everyone is as sensible as Bedford....

  13. Ah ok I thought it was Oulton, still sounds like it's worth enquiring.

  14. 899 with Termi silencers at Oulton yesterday blew 106 dB. Baffles in it blew 103.3 so failed to get on. Lots of other 'non standard' zorst wearing bikes also failed. Including some bikes that for the last 5 years had passed!
