Discussion in 'Panigale' started by bradders, Nov 18, 2022.

  1. Rear sets, levers, front brake pads, correct brake fluid, battery charger, clip on tubes and a sense of humour.

  2. Oh and if you have a non standard tank cap take the oem version with you incase you get breather issues.
I have a set of white connectors the same as the mirror type harness connectors, I have had to swap a few of these

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  3. New leathers too……unless you’re travelling back to the late 70’s…..

  4. If you have two keys, take both and put them in separate places..... yup, no key can cause issues

  7. The map sensor is a regular killer of euro dreams.

  9. Plan to get a full service in NY before any potential track action. Plugs, oil, filter all be checked and/or replaced. And I can order the map sensor etc.

If the DQs Ensor goes I assume you can still ride but just old school clutch?

  10. I’m sure the oil in that bike will not be a thick plastic slime it’s been stagnating for so long :joy:

but as most have said, MAP sensor, gear position sensor, front speed sensor is handy because if that rubs or snaps all the electronic aides are off… apart from the shifter you’ll be pleased to know :joy:

clip on tube and levers just in case, and some oil as Nathan pointed out… because, well, it’s a ducati.

You can go mad and take a load of spares and you know the bit you’ll need will be the only bit you haven’t got. Take a few bits for peace of mind but keep it upright and you should be ok :upyeah:

  11. It’s more the non regular stuff. Although this bike has non standard bars. So I best got stocked up on renthals ;)

  12. I think since you tagged me they have you covered, what I will say is if you want to a euro before June book sharpish as many are selling fast.

  13. Make sure when they service that you ask them to set the oil at track level, so at the bottom line of the sight glass. I learnt the had way from this, they breathe through the airbox VERY easily if the level is at road level which is the standard level they'll likely set it to

  14. I had the DES flash on at Almeria, so if you have front fairing off at any point put some rubber washers on the des sensor there. Apparently, and I dont know the veracity of this, it is due to vibes.

  15. spare bike :)

  16. You don't do briefings for trackdays do you...: unamused:

  17. Prep it well. Where are you going? European gigs are pretty well organised. You’d be surprised what spares are available locally should you need any.
Unless there’s a historical failure with certain components on the 1299, I’d keep spares minimal. The V4S for example has a chocolate OE quick shifter and gear position sensor, so I carry spares just in case.

  18. That’s the question Hairy, what should I take that wouldn’t be ‘normal’ for a trackday generally but especially abroad. Lots of good info so far…

  19. Like with a gixer you need fuses and teabag fuel filters, or a Daytona you need a spare motor ;)

  20. Could you not ask your local Ducati specialist what commonly breaks on the 1299, that can be fixed trackside or with the minimum of tools.
