  1. Thanks for the replies guys, looks like an S if I can get the insurance !

Spoken to Ducati ins and they have taken more details to speak to their underwriters. This, after they asked about last bike (an 1198 in 2012) and biking history 25 years. Dealer has suggested MCE,so I will give them a bell tomorrow.

What's reasonable ?? As I'm not getting shafted for insurance.

Age 44,bike and car licence for over 25 years. Full NCB on 2 cars. No claims, convictions. But,no insurance history on a bike.
    Also,any more insurance options?

    Again,thanks

  2. Years of riding/driving and car Ncb will not mean anything to them. They will see you as a rider with zero bike Ncb. Most will depend on your postcode and how the insurers see the risk on that bike. With the years away I'd be surprised if you got anything less than £1000... But that depends an awful lot on the postcode.

  3. Welcome matey, Give Martin a buzz at Ducati Glasglow and chat with him. Great Guy and great dealership. Got my 1299 S from there . Very Happy, and im not easily pleased.

  4. Think you've got to ask yourself why you really want the s version compared to the base model that ive got.its no quicker and you can change stock parts to make the base model look better ( carbonise it etc).
you can get a base model for about £900 fully comp depending where you live from mce or haggle with other insurers. if I was 44 and if I had no no claims would cost me a stupid 7500 quid to insure the s. its not worth it you will be throwing away money.
