Luckily for me I did it half way through the resto with the engine not yet in the frame so I helped my self to a slice of humble pie and put it right. If I recall correctly it's dead easy to swap it round by taking the heads off complete with bevel gears/shaft and undo the two screws holding the casting.

Maybe Giuseppe had a little bit too much vino at lunchtime and its been that way round since it was built. I did exactly the same with mine, and after stamping my feet took it apart and fitted it the other way. Was the rear head as well.
Right… What popular bevel wisdom am I missing here, that makes the set-up shown by @DucatiScud look better than what’s on my bike? Is it some kind of « bevel étiquette » that I should be aware of, lest I get banned from the Bevel community for heresy?
Like a kind of « bevel snob » detector? More seriously, if there are no mechanical consequences whatsoever, I seriously doubt this was all planned by Fabio Taglioni to look one way or another. I am obviously eager to stand corrected in this, should I be completely wrong. After all, I am just another bevel noob…
It's just that his picture shows two different parts - fins aligned with the airflow. Yours are both the same, so the vertical cylinder one looks wrong...

There ya go! Now I am regretting not being on FB… From everything I read and what I understood, the parts are good. It’s just the vertical cylinder one that should be rotated 180 to expose the other face.
I am definitely not there yet, OCD wise… My next concern is more about rewiring and setting the pickups right.
I suspect the wiring will be trickier than setting the pickups... And what do you mean you're not quite there with OCD - you've just spent 3 days shimming the valves OCD is prerequisite of bevel ownership
Keep it as is, if you like it that way. Your bike your rules, ignore those who are precious about such things, it’s a work of beautiful engineering not a work of art like a Monet. It looks better as it is……
Talking about aesthetics, got a couple nice bits from Australia (Gowanloch) today: front indicators stems and some bling clamps for the Contis. Gowie offers a side stand « kit » for the Darmah. That looks to be the same as the one I fitted to the Darmah & from what I can remember it's another item from Brancato engineering so it is very well made. It requires the side stand cabling to be extended and a new switch to be bought and mounted somehow. For the latter I gave it plenty of thought and resorted to the typical bent piece of thin metal sheet. So I rarely use it and when I do it's only for a minute whilst looking for better spot to use the centre stand.
