Thanks Ricky, sorry to hear of your loss too, its not an easy thing to go through. I have had offers between 10k-12k on this but as Ducati said it "was a race bike" it is hard for me to get an accurate valuation. My Dad reckoned it was worth about 18k but he did like to overestimate on these things! I saw a 916 Corse for 32k so once Ducati confirm exactly what this is then I will be in a better position to get a figure. Many thanks guys.
Marchesini magnesium road and track wheels fall between the forged aluminium and magnesium race wheels. The R&T front spoke is a U section whereas the R is solid and more slender. The R&T rear wheel has diagonal webbing in the spoke whereas the R is again solid and more slender. I would venture to suggest that the Race wheels would be vulnerable to major damage on some of the more notorious pot holed roads. Andy
Those are the original wheels which IMO should be put back on the bike plus any other original parts, mudguard, clutch cover, chain guard, levers but then I'm ananorak and look for originality. Oh yes, Carl Foggarty's signature with no provenance adds no value. I am a long time fan having met the man socially as well as through Ducati and have his signature on an original Foggy jacket, sadly it's priceless to me but is worth no more than the value of the original jacket.
