1998 Yamaha R1 Worth?

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Bazz, Jul 12, 2016.

  1. Yeh, bad as a red seat:Finger: but easy to change :)

  2. I genuinely thought you could pick these up for peanuts. I work often in London and see loads of these as commuters ?

    Am I missing something??

No disrespect because they're mega bikes

  3. None taken.

I am sort of in the same mindset. I've seen some advertised for a fair wack and other for less (is it worth that yet or are people dreaming a little, i don't know). Initially with the bike i was hoping it would increase in value in years to come. As exige says put it on ebay and see what people's reactions are, as its only worth what someone is willing to spend. But this chap i'm in touch with seems to think the red and white one is sought after and reckons he has someone interested already. I'll wait and see what comes of it.

  4. Do you like riding it? If not then sell it. If you do, then keep it.

  5. Do i like riding it?

    Not really anymore.

    So that means sell it.

    But...

I want lots and lots of money for it! :tonguewink:

  6. Mate. Don't let fucker go for less than £5k
I would have bought it off you but I don't have space and got one anyway.
Pitch it for £7k , it is your bike, you get proper money for it , don't let some middleman or seller- buyer to make money out of you. That's what annoy me... People buy shit pretending they care only to list it next day for double the price!

  7. il swap it for a TT race bike. :upyeah:

  8. A what you say? Do go on?

  9. My buddy has an AC cobra replica (AK version) and he was looking at getting another one the other day advertised for around £28k or something like that. Some dealer down in London buys em up and resells them for double the price and people pay it, its mad!

I'm gonna see what ebay brings and see what this chap can do, if i cant get the price i have in mind or near to it she ent going anywhere.

  10. its in for sale section er650 TT race bike have a look.

  11. As nice as it is buddy, the reason i'm thinking of selling the R1 is because its just sittin there unused. I would be in the exact same position with the kwak lol!

  12. No worries matey

  13. I've got one of these- swapsies?

  16. If you can't get the price you want, then it clearly isn't worth what you want :) There is no greater advocate of the value of 4XV R1's as I said before - I have a zero mile example, but £7K :Wideyed:

Stick it up on Ebay with a 99p start (reserve if your not brave ;)) and post the link so the interested can watch :D

  17. Well i've sold the R1! The guy from facebook/car and classics put this guy in touch with me who came to look at it the other week and put a deposit straight down. Sold it for £6500, £6k to me and £500 to the middleman for sorting it, i got exactly what i wanted so well chuffed with that. Was quite surprised as not just you exige but a few others did not think i would get that much for the bike.

Was a little sad to see it go once it was all cleaned up and looking nice but it was nice to see it go to someone who is really loved it.

  18. That is a lot, all helps the value of my new one :D
Don't understand the Car and Classic guys fee as the web site is free to advertise, could you not just have done so, surly the buyer would have seen it?
    :)

  19. Well done. Goes to show, I guess
