  6. Same here....first bike was a Fazer fz6 ....man the mutley is like a rolls Royce in comparison! Wish all the newbies the best of luck and big fun!

    Stay safe!

  7. Was my first Ducati

  8. Hi Guys not a typo

I ride a round trip of 84 miles (Weymouth to Bournemouth Airport) a day to work sometimes taking the scenic route round the New Forest and then I like to do the odd ride out to down to the west country or north wales for the day. Leaving early in the morning (5.30am) means no traffic (short journey times) and more fun, even in the dark, I love the multi's lights....excellent.

There is a guy...Zookiman (multistrada.net) in the USA has done over 150,000 on a multi although he did put another engine in at 120,000 because of the alternator end bearing failure.

He works at a jet engine overhaul workshop in the US working on Rolls Royce engines , I work in a jet engine overhaul workshop working on General Electric engines in England just for coincidence.

  9. Well got hold of Lagunas today about getting my bike in ASAP turns out a bit of miss communication they said get it in quick because mine has the rear brake problem and didn't want me riding with no brake so hats off to them great service as always

  10. How can we tell if the rear brake has had the modification?

  11. Well for a start, does it work or not?

  12. It works OK, not the best rear brake I've used

  13. Mmm... My back brake is the same - definitely not brilliant and possibly the worst back brake I've had. I literally have to stand on it to feel much happening! Fortunately it doesn't bother me too much but I can't believe they can make such a bad brake in 2012 (and call it a Brembo as well)

But how would I know if mine has had the mods done (or whatever it is they do) to make it better.

    Mines a march 2012 bike.

  14. As far as I know looks virtually the same, just different bore on brake line!! I put sport compound pad in back of mine and its fantastic compared to when new!! Really slows bike down

  15. When I was looking at Ducatis I went to baines on a fact finding mission. He had a 900 monster in with 100,000 miles on the clock. The owner had asked for an engine rebuild as it had done that sort of mileage, but in Mr Baines (Geoff? I'm terrible with names) opinion it didn't need one.

  16. My first too ! , and as regular readers will have guessed .. almost certainly the last !

  17. Yep if it helps and you can get hold of some, go for sinterd brake pads there awesome but the do only last half as long as normal pads. But that said on my last bike I changed them every pre-season service full set for my R1 was only £65 well worth the money.

  18. my first big bike was an RD350 (not the ypvs version!) - all glossy black and with white wheels happy memories! - suprising to see how much they are going for nowadays! yikes!

(c90 and cb125 'superdream' before that)

  19. HH Ferodo Platinum pads for the rear. If you have a somewhat functional rear brake it'll improve it by 25%. If your rear is rubbish, forget it; nothing's gonna help.

  20. Dave :) Still moaning I read. There's a bunch of other bikes out there with your name on it and a happier poster you will be too.
    Move on lad, move on.
