Just wonder on the experience of the guys running the shop. Good to hear they ride bikes. The workshop is probably the most important bit and wonder what Ducati experience they will be able to buy into. Surprised they did not advertise their opening. I live 15 miles away and first info on this forum. I noticed a new dealer opened in Nottingham with a 'grand opening' with a celebrity. Perhaps that is to come!
The only way I knew of it was I'd driven past a sign on the a1 where the new Peterborough Ducat showroom will be. googled that and read of them opening two , the second being 5 mins for my house. I asked about the StNeots motorcycles shop having any further dealings with Ducati . two didn't know of them , the third saying they would still be connected with servicing for a year. You could read that as you will , but I read that as two of them now knowing what they are on about whilst the shop learns more about ducatis for a year. I guess we'll see !
Exactly the same happened with Parkies at Colchester. They were told! By VAG they needed to find/spend £1 million on a new store etc to be able to stay with the Ducati franchise.. Surprisingly, not, the answer was No..
My first opinion of them was very good having visited the showroom on Saturday. I was shown the new Multistrada by Alex and he was both helpful and knowledgeable of the bike he was showing me. Quite a relief as the last well known Ducati dealer I visited, the salesman couldn't even tell me what the functions were on the display and by all accounts, the guy had worked there for years. There's nothing wrong with a car franchise owning a bike dealership, if the guys are bikers and are helpful and knowledgeable, in my humble opinion
