  2. Although the seat and top fairings were a crap fit, I fitted them up for a test fit D835E4FE-FED3-4EB6-9F12-2ABFA979A2C5.jpeg FBB37DE2-9B76-416A-ABF2-EE1F0C348C25.jpeg

Just as I was a day away from getting it out on the road, the niggling from the marks/scratches on the frame got the better of me and I took it apart again!

  3. You've not put the new nut on with the new fuel gauge.
    All looking very nice though.

  4. It was only when I got the new sender that I noticed it comes with an anodised black aluminium nut. So the silver replacement I bought is now in the parts box :)

  5. Quite like the fuel cap. Got a link?

  6. So everything was stripped right back and I decided to do it properly. 20 years of muck and crap hidden and paint dropping off of parts would have given me a head ache if I’d of left it

  11. As the brakes were in a bit of a cosmetic state, I thought I’d get these blasted and coated at the same time as the other bits. It’s a really fine media coating and came up really well. Not everyone’s cuppa tea, but still....

After wanting something a bit jazzy and from speaking to @-Jon- and @bettes , I went with a Race Technology Dash 2 :)

Which leaves me at where we are now.

Mid Feb, work went absolutely mental. The dash wiring was only just started, belts needed replacing, fluids all needing doing and I really wanted a tracker fitted before it hit the road again. So the bike is still away (hopefully not much longer) having them bits done.

Typically as soon as I sent it away, poxy Corona Virus appeared and gave me a couple of extra days spare a week that I could have spent on the bike.

I’ll keep this updated now :)

  12. Well done mate. Coming together nicely. I like the frame colour, it’s what I’m after for my wheels.
    Is the dash finished then?

  13. Simply brilliant

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  14. Looks good. Think the brake coating will split opinions but it’s yours isn’t it.
Great job. Looking forward to next update.

  15. What's the crinkly finish on the foot rest hangers - I have some carb tops that need similar?

  16. It’s BMW Ferric Grey, but I’ve got no idea what paint code it is. Does look nice though :)

Apparently the dash is sorted now, just going over a couple of bits and road testing after a couple of small oil leaks.

Good thing is, the bike is almost brand new after everything it’s had over the last 12 months!

Thanks for all your help with this dash @bettes ! It’s not the most straight forward lol

  17. Mate, no problem at all. Are you going to bother with idiot lights for the fuel reserve and neutral?

  18. Looks good mste

  19. Always good to have something different and as the other bits were being done, it was worth a shot! Cheers for the comments dude!

It’s a textured black powder coat, that’s the limitations of my knowledge on it. Apparently the black truck bed liner paint is supposed to be a similar finish if you’re only after doing something small?

  20. Ive asked him to add the idiot lights, otherwise I would no doubt regret not having them done. I’ve been looking into having a 3D printed housing made up for the dash and buttons so it looks more factory. Will look tidier than my bit of Carbon and pissed button holes

He’s also fitted an 848 rear calliper bracket for the speed sensor and fitted a bigger rear disc

    Cheers mate! It’s getting there
