  1. Awesome bike!

  2. Here she is at Aragon this week.
Fitted Dunlop 213s and can honestly say I have never ridden a finer handling bike. Cracked a PB 2:16 (was 2:17 on my 1199R o_O).
Had to put her back in the van after an engine stutter at 8500 developed, limiting my back straight speed to 160 mph.
More clicks of preload and a turn or two of compression make this incredibly light and nimble bike a joy to ride.
I will try and get some video up here with the soundtrack.

  5. Out of interest what is this? Is it a sort of manual pump to get oil up to the top of the engine before starting it?

  6. Just had it weighed.

    161.50 kilos :astonished:

Next up, a visit to the dyno.

  8. Oil pressure sensor for the data logger. No longer connected it would appear.

    Lovely bike.

  9. Engine stutter @ 8000 rpm solved by Moto Rapido:
“Inconsistent power above 8000 rpm caused by the retaining cap for the pressure regulator being dislodged.”

    Back to the dyno.

  11. Prepped for Jerez September 18-20th.
Rev limiter set at 11,000 RPM on a “running in map”, rather than the “race map” 14,000 RPM.

See how we get on this time :D.

  15. Finally a video on track.

Getting this little gem back to where she should be has been a real mechanical struggle. She still isn’t quite right, but I have also had to adapt how I ride to simply extract the performance.

    This one’s for you @Jaco

  16. Doesn't sound like it likes revving, lots of short shifting?

  17. Curious is it the original engine, are there any restrictions on the mileage you can put on it etc, e.g. does it have a much tighter 'service' schedule ?

  18. The “revving” is the present issue.
Accessing the ECU is not easy as the tech is so old and maps are not freely available.
Presently the limit is set to 11k with 115bhp. Potentially 14k is possible with 145, or I have heard, 157 bhp on tap.

There is no power below 7k, so keeping her 8-11k is key to maintaining momentum. Compared to todays big bhp. big torque bikes, she really takes concentration to ride on a track.

The reward is pin sharp handling (160 kgs weight), epic braking and gas at full lean.

On such a twisty track as Estoril it was fun dive-bombing the apexes and over-taking on the outside of turns.
