It is an original engine. After one full day at Estoril it will be a full nut and bolt check, oil and filter. I will use it at historic events, so very low mileage, but better than in a museum or front room.
As you know, I have a not quite as fancy 749R with a Kit engine - it also has pretty rubbish power below 7-8k but I had it set up by Louigi/CJS and it gives good power up to 11.5k (~135rwbhp on their dyno) - I just love the 2 stroke behaviour of the motor, it’s fantastic fun keeping it between 8-11k and using the revs. You’ll get used to it!
Agree, that 2-stroke power is addictive, especially so early out of corners and the weight makes late, hard and deep braking to the apex a joy. This bike will teach me to be a better track rider.
