I did bid him 6 as it's due a desmo service and it would have cost me about 300 to get it to the south east
If you or any other forum member is looking at a bike in N Ireland, in the future, the most cost effective way is a £30 easyJet flight to Belfast, pick the bike up yourself and bring it back on the ferry. If you are in Scotland or North of England, the ferry to Cairnryan is £40 or if you are in the Midlands or South. The overnight ferry to Liverpool is £80. It’s an easy trip either way, especially at this time of year and while you are here you should take a run up our famous north coast road, which is stunning. I do this trip in reverse, a couple of times each year as I buy a few bikes, mainly in England, bring them back to N Ireland, play with them for a while, then sell them on.
strangely he was chasing me just after a few days so clearly motivated to get out of it so good for him that you showed up the service would have cost the best part of 800 and transit 300 so all in at 7k i dont think my number was that far off it was all amicable enough but stars never lined up for me but they did for you so all well in the end
It’s strange that he was chasing your offer as your post on 17th states he wouldn’t reduce the price. I spoke to him again on Fri 17th with the intention of viewing that evening but he was out of the country until Monday 20th so I arranged to view on Monday evening, left a deposit and picked it up on Tue.
thats right... the phone conversation ended that way but he was away with his family for a few days and a few messages were exchanged as he couldnt easily speak all moot now.. im still on the hunt albeit in no rush at all
As I indicated earlier in the thread, I buy a few bikes each year and sell them on. I mainly buy in England and bring them across to N Ireland but was fortunate with this one as it was only 15 miles away. I usually have two or three bikes in my garage so am never stuck for a run out when one goes.
cheers has it had anything done to it since you bought it? nice pics and ad by the way. much better than the original ones on gumtree
It always surprises me how many bikes are advertised with poor photos, when everyone has a high quality camera on their phone
