Steve is a friend i have known many years from racing and the go to guy in the Bemsee/MRO paddock for suspension set up and an Ohlins specialist. I dont know how much different he does with the electronics of the skyhook semi active system or if its the base set up he does with spring rates etc before the electronics but can ask quite easily
Yep, steve jordans gets my vote too. He has set up a number of peoples DVTs I know of (both S and base bikes), and they are very pleased.
When you call you might get Mrs Jordan answering the phone as she runs the office. She also knows her stuff and been a racer for many years in many classes including BSB Supersport Tell her i said hello
Yeah, I did that when I first got it. Made a big difference. I still never get into the last 50mm of travel though. Must eat more pies, and drink more beer!!
Daft question i have a 2010s touring electronic front suspension is it the same for setting the front pre load as mine dives quite badly under hard braking
Your 2010 is ohlins, not skyhook. You can still adjust compression & rebound through the settings, plus play around with adding a bit more oil to each fork leg too. Again, Steve Jordan can advise on this
Ahhh I’m very good at those two disciplines.... maybe why my suspension seems to work As an aside I’ve just returned from a fairly spirited Dales ride where I was testing my DTC theory( on a different discussion) and I had also dropped the yokes down the forks by 1 ring and again another improvement So to summarise my settings Custom triple staged rear spring for my weight ( worth EVERY penny) Rear damping on softer Pre-load 10 Front damping on softer Front pre-load 6 turns 1 extra ring showing on the forks I use ALL the front travel I’m not chewing the tyres even over very rough uneven road surfaces I’m impressed with how it handles Just about everything
