Thats very different to mine john. Ok I have only done a few hundred in single digit, maybe a thousand or so, miles but always returned roughly the same results. My bike runs around 70 (outside of heavy traffic) all the time
It's your thermostat that controls engine temp, the radiator just cools the coolant after the thermostat opens, so get your thermostat checked.
Dave, your sort of right. Problem is, if the radiator over cools, the thermostat will not open fully. My mate has tried 3 thermostats and same result with all of them. Ducati don't offer different temperature thermostats. The problem is (we think) the ambient air sensor makes the ecu over compensate for the cold temperature, and by running so rich the engine also runs cooler than normal. at least blocking off some of the rad helps to get the engine temp up a bit (old school racing practice, admittedly from pre ecu controlled injection days when running carbs)
Bradder, my 10 used to run mid 80s, and low 90s when in South of France. My 12 runs around 64 most of the time. When it's cold it barely registers 60. These are out of traffic temps too.

So in effect the 2015 MTS s model is £1000 more expensive than the current model considering the 2014 model already comes with panniers etc. Ummm
Yep, clever marketing to get you to pay more and they re coup there costs as I doubt the panny set is any more to produce than last years model. So for a full set you go for the 'Touring pack' then pay another wedge for a top box. Mmmmmm...........nearly 18k for a 2 wheeled tourer.
WARNING - OLD SKOOL OLD FART LUDDITE ALERT!!!! .... I will never buy anything that comes with the option of any kind of fucking 'pack' - fucking Audi fucking marketing bollox - makes me wanna puke! END OF ALERT ....
I assume you can use your existing topbox, just need to buy the rack to fit the new bike, unless they've buggered that up for us
No. I was talking to my dealer, and they said you can buy the parts individually, as before. That makes me wonder if the "pack" is essentially a discount...maybe. Or the individual parts are more expensive... ;-)
Normally pack are a discount on individual parts, but often you only 'need' 2 of the 4 items, and 'for only £100 you may as well take the pack and get them all' rings out
Looking on the web site it only lists the top box in touring accessories section, makes me wonder if you have to buy the top box to get the rack to fit it to the bike! Hoping you can buy the rack on its own and use your existing topbox, suspect not.
Good question. When the GT was released complete with top box, the parts list for that model had all the individual bits for the rack fitting kit, so I was able to order a replacement spacer (between the rear under fairing and the support bars). The web page for the rear top case kit indicates that the kits fits all models from 2010 to 2015. Maybe the rack mounting kit is the same even though everything they would bolt to has been redesigned on the 2015 model. Also the top case is available with panels in various colours to match the bike (red, black, matt chrome, race titanium and pearl white) except that the 2015 1200S model is available in iceberg white. Also, all the photos I've seen of 2015 models with top boxes have silver panels, the same colour as the new "one colour suits all" panniers.
Most of the accessories for the 2015 model that make up a pack are now listed on the Ductai.com website however they are are not yet on the Ducati.co.uk website which shows the UK prices. For the Touring Pack, it's about a 10% saving based on price of the "old model" accessories (centre stand, heated grips and panniers), a total of £1,039 compared with a pack price of £954. The Sports Pack looks similar however there are 3 different prices for carbon front mudguards, depending on year. The Urban Pack doesn't look as good value if the Givi 3D604 Tanklock Tankbag and S111 Power Hub are factored in along with the Ducati top box. The Enduro Pack is not straightforward as it includes a larger, thicker sump/engine guard for which there are no details yet and nothing similar for estimating the price. Also the keyless fuel cap (hands-free tank filler plug) isn't yet listed as a 2015 accessory, nor are liners for the new panniers. I'm taking a keen interest in the details and pricing of the accessories having put £200 down on a 1200S in white
2015 Individual Accessory Prices I just checked the Ducati.co.uk web site again and the 2015 individual accessory prices are now available: Urban Pack £586.30 [97980041A] Kit Topcase 96780581A £479.40 New part number for 2015, although the "old" type is still shown on a 2015 search Old price was £440 Tank bag with tank-lock fastener 96780511A £180.45 Different photo from that originally posted, doesn't look like a standard Givi model Looks expensive but good design for touring Power extension cable with USB port 96680441A £84.35 Expensive compared with Givi S111 but has Powerlet plug to connect into the outlet in the fairing Pack pricing gives £157.90 (27%) saving over buying individually Sports Pack £953.86 [97980051A] End silencer in type-approved carbon 96480711A £714.25 Carbon Fibre Front Mudguard 96980671A £255.18 Billet Aluminium Brake & Clutch Reservoirs 96180291A £84.35 Pack pricing gives £99.92 (10%) saving over buying individually Touring Pack £953.86 [97980031A] Set of rigid side panniers 96780571A £692.90 Old price was £632.29 Heated grips kit 96680451A £212.50 Old price was 212.63 - can't be right, the price was gone up Center stand kit 97080061A £191.10 Old price was £182.35 Pack pricing gives £142.64 (15%) saving over buying individually Enduro Pack £953.86 [97980061A] Set of additional LED headlamps 96680431A £319.20 Old price was £295.58 Aluminum radiator protective grille 97380351A £201.10 Billet aluminum footrests 96280241A £148.80 Touratech price £129.79 (link) Engine cover plate 97380341A £174.00 Engine cover in steel tubes 96780561A £261.60 Touratech price £269.55 (link) - less than Touratech, must be a mistake Stand support plate 97380331A £41.65 Touratech price £26.95 (link) Pack pricing gives £319.20 (20%) saving over buying individually So prices for accessories are generally up by a fair bit.
