2015 R1

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by big thumpa, Dec 2, 2014.

  1. its not to have or not to have, its more the fact that some people forget its a safety net and not a parachute, and look to it to bail out their lack of talent.

  2. Think some peps are forgetting that some other peps may ride their bikes in inclement weather. T/C aint just for trackday heroes/wannabees...:Asshat:

  3. Traction control was a nice addition on my Multi when going up a wet and slippery ramp to board a ferry this year. It looked spectacular by all accounts when the back end stepped out. Maybe I would have caught it without traction control...maybe..
I prefer the under seat exhaust models tbh (owned an 06 ) but have the hots for a big bang R1 with tc and Yoshi pipes. The looks of the new model do nothing for me. Might be a grower though as I hated the 08 Blade when it came out and now like it.
As for more power etc etc., anything between 150bhp to 180ish is more than adequate for me.

  4. I prefer Gin

  5. And the MV F4RR

  6. Went to local yamaha dealer today and had a really good look over the new R1 very nice indeed and looks to be really well put together , the mechanic started it up for me to hear and i have to say it does sound nice , but he wouldnt let me sit on it as somebody is picking it up in the morning ;) lucky sod

  7. Also (on a new bike note)....riders in bristol have their 1299 and also an akra for it aswell so the mechanic told me yesterday after he finished mot'ing the hyper...

  8. Have Yamaha dealers got these in now? Terrible thing is, I have no idea where my local Yamaha dealer is any more!

  9. I have both the 848 and the 1199, the 1199 does look pretty but I like my 848 Evo better looks much nicer, Trellis frame and underseat Termi's lush.

  10. My local dealer has one in for a customer and the owner also has one but no demo :( they say that yamaha haven't got enough stock for dealers to have a demo , which isn't good

  11. I just bought one, collect it on Saturday, I didn't pay £15000 for it but won't go in to that ;)

It's the red one and I have to say it is lush, well finished can't wait to have a ride before it is switched to track tool.

Not sure about the super corsa sp rubber for the road though!

Will post a pic when I collect her, it's not a replacement for the 1098s or hypermotard sp though, I will never move away from Ducati but a bit of variety......

  12. Re the whole traction control debate, anyone see the new Dorna onboard telemetry stuff (which was fantastic btw)? Apex, 90% lean and straight onto 100% throttle. Try doing that without traction control and see how long it lasts! Lol

  13. Where from? Want to see one in the flesh

  14. i heard they literally flew off the shelves, fine bike !!!

I lied the red more than the other colours, throiw up a pic when you get a minute.

    Wear Well btw :upyeah:

  15. It's from a small dealer in merseyside the only one they got in the shop
Bill smuth of Chester got 2 last Wednesday both sold before arriving in shop

  16. I hear they are making more R1M which would piss me off having bought what I though was limited to 200 units!!

  18. My local dealer took one in after 300 miles. The owner went back out on a ZZR1400. The Yam is ugly and a bag of shite.

  19. They are making limited numbers......each year...if demand is there they will step it up. Thats what my local dealer told me. 1st batch were to test the market.

  20. The 2 bikes you mention in your comments couldn't be more different!

Hard to believe its a 'bag of shite' not one media review comes close to labelling it as such, as for looks well thats individual taste...but appreciate your insight in to what has been widely labelled as putting yamaha back up there :upyeah:
