2017 Ducati Average 4.8% Price Increase

  2. I was considering swapping my FT for a new Cafe Racer been offered a pittance in part x went to the dealer with the intention of putting a deposit down. In the last 12 months I have bought 2 new Ducatis a Scrambler and a Multistrada from the same dealer thinking now to cut my losses and sell them both
    10k for a Scrambler that then needs 2k on sorting out crap suspension is not acceptable triumph bobber is looking tempting
     
  3. Unfortunately buying new and then selling within 12 months is almost guaranteed to result in huge depreciation, especially at this time of year when sales are sluggish.
    I`ve not checked Scrambler prices, are they really £10k. Sounds mental but I`m sure Ducati have their fair share of delusional customers that will be happy to pay up for the brand.

  6. Believe it or not, Bovril on toast and then cheese melted on top......it's just epic

    I like mine with mozerella and Edam, caramalised onion, green chilled, touch of paprika, coriander, and sometimes those peppers that come in a jar.
     
  8. Don't like toasted cheese. Turns it greasy and rubbery. If its the very best vintage Cheddar and the very best and freshest bread, no toasting is required.

    No sandwich. A doorstep of fresh crusty bread and a chunk of rich creamy Cheddar that's so strong it makes the roof of your mouth tingle.

    I will do fresh ciabatta with olive oil and some pecorino..

    For KTM owners there's smoked cheese and Pumpernickel. Never tried toasting Pumpernickel. I should imagine it turns to chipboard.
     
  11. Motorcycles (in the West, at least) are mainly a luxury item and the smart manufacturers (mainly the Europeans) know this and price accordingly.

    It never ceases to amaze me that producers can charge similar money for vastly different machines (in terms of complexity) - ie RNineT v GS/wasserboxer.........because there is a market for them and people will pay for the "image/brand", rather than the technology.

    I'm currently looking for a "new" bike (my first new bike in 30 odd years) and will probably spend my hard earned on a R1200RS and run it for 10 years plus (I know that BMW are not as reliable as you'd expect...but.....once over any initial issues they have proven to be capable of mega high mileages of a 100k plus and they retain their value like no other brand).

    At my age, a bike like this has all the speed, character and do it all ability that I will ever need.

    I'll sell my 15 year old R1150R for more than I paid for it and keep the 900ss for sunny Sundays.

  16. Ironic isn't it that the thread started about a manufacturer known to have bolts made out of dairy type substance, and it quickly transformed into a cheese debate......I do hope cheddar doesn't rise 4.8%, I'm not sure I'd be able to hold firm then

  18. Not cheddar, but parmesan, dolcelatte, and gorgonzola are going up obviously ...

  19. That I can live with, although I like parmesan I always thought it was a bit pricey considering it won't melt on toast
     
  20. No, that's toast with cheese. Do like a bit of Wooster on it.
