A quickshifter would be nice but not something I'm too bothered about on this style of bike. Panigale yes, multi, not too fussed really.
However, a million horse power, pin sharp handling, weigh 140kgs and comfort of a gold wing, that I could dig on!!
Even my GS has a quick shift (both directions), though it is only smooth from 3-6 and back. My MV also had one that was quite good. Once you get used to having it, you miss it when it is not there. To me the Multi should have QS and TPMS as it is behind both the BMW and KTM competitors in that area. I'd rather have that and very good fueling than even more horsepower but as always, ymmv.
And that appears to be very consistent with current rate of consumption of about 1 litre for 14000 miles. I'd say a claim of upto 2 litres for a 2.5K mile trip is a wild exaggeration. That literally would be insane and unacceptable and I just flat don't believe it for a second.
I'd say that a QS and AB is an absolute must, if they want to ensure their spec sheets have parity with the competition. If the new DVT came with what we know will be a 1260cc X-Diavel based lump and a full blown quickshift, but the bike absolutely the same in all other regards then I would be very happy and I'd have my deposit down in a flash.
My eyes! I just want to make it known this is the first, and I hope the last time, that I've used the "Facepalm" rating. Just when I thought you'd reached rock bottom with the belt drive thing, you reached for the shovel and kept digging.
Not sure about AB, TPMS is Tire Pressure Monitoring System. I ride mostly 2-up, and given varying roads/conditions I hate to depend on feel when judging if a tire is going down. I added the Cyclops unit, so far, so good. Peace of mind for those of us who suffer from CDO. That's Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, but in alphabetical order like it should be...
Had the TPMS on my RT and it gave a lot of confidence. Worked really well. Would be interested in your view on how reliable this system is.
This is the system: https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/Motorcycle-Tire-Pressure-Monitoring-System_p_171.html So far I'm impressed. It alternates between tire pressure and temperature. I just need to set my high pressure alarm a bit higher (default is 43 psi). It will flash red lights when you're too high or too low along with showing the constant pressure/temp - even from startup. Doesn't require you to ride for awhile like the BMW system does.
Not sure if I missed it. With the new engine will there be a complete bodystyle makeover or are they putting it into the current model. Was an early adopter with a 2010 model. Now have a Diavel but want to add a Multi. Not sure whether to wait if there is a new model coming. Otherwise I doubt I "need" the extra power.
