  1. I remember test riding new carbon fibre front suspension units from specialized in the late 80s, and they were shocking. Pace suspension i tested to and they were very poor, broke a few units. i think the technology at the time was just beginning to understand shear forces and flex. cost was huge at the time given the specialized front shocks on the MTB was around £700 if i can remember correctly

  2. I guess technology has moved on, because i also used to make carbon fibre components for Caterham 7 and costs then were huge!!

These nosecones i sold were Pre Preg units and they were £1200 at the time.

  4. Only the GP Desmo could steal the limelight from Monica Belucci (well almost) & what a stark contrast that is to the 2021 Frankenstein : unamused:

  5. Presume the low-light photos are for the floodlit race look, or
Maybe just looks better in the dark......

  6. Somebody needs to sort this out. Ducati’s should never look anything like this. OK the V4 is “challenging” to begin with but it takes a special sort of f-up to end up with that monstrosity

  7. Just seen this off Pirro's Instagram profile. The back end seems to have been reshaped and from behind it doesn't even look central ? :bucktooth:

  9. What are you seeing when you look at it? Not the boxy, Lego kit with absurd plastics attached to it & no classic curves or lines that I’m seeing then?

  10. I’m seeing a prototype motorcycle built for one purpose and one purpose only, to compete in MotoGP. Andy

  12. Things move on, whether we like it or not. I choose to look at the whole and if the bike carries either Bagnaia or Miller to the championship, I can forgive that the latest generation Ducati is not as pretty as you think it once was. Andy

  14. Nope, I'm with you mate, its a brutal looking thing built for a purpose and with that brutality comes beauty, then again I'm the sort of person that loves the Alfa Romeo SZ & RZ .......

  15. Since it will be the fastest, best handling and braking bike in the paddock, it won't matter that it looks like shit..

  16. Isn't this a stop gap bike? I thought I read somewhere a completely new one was being worked on for 2022?

  17. I think the chequered flag paintwork inside the top wing scoops is a bit optimistic. None of the teams have been allowed to significantly modify their bikes for 2021 so it will be fighting for lower podium places all year.

  18. Just watching highlights of the 2017 season, now that was a nice colour scheme. I just wish Lorenzo had stayed with Ducati!! 2017 didn't start great but after a few races he pretty much was leading every race and got a few podiums. 2018 was even better for him with a handful of wins, he really seemed to have mastered the bike when no one thought he would! Who knows what would have happened if Ducati had kept him on and he didn't go to Honda? I'm 100% sure he'd still be racing :punch:
