V4 2021 Multistrada V4 (post Info) Buying Survey

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by DarR, Nov 14, 2020.

  1. I'm not the one being silly with an absurd scenario here.
The shoot-out shouldn’t be exclusively track, but it should be a component of the comparison as track is the ultimate handling test bench. Moreover, it's been done often. Here's one of those looking at the 1200DVT when first launched around 2015~16. In this comparo the BMW had the edge overall albeit only marginally, objectively but not necessary subjectively. Too bad it wasn’t against the much improved 1260 with its better fuelling and power.
The track component starts at 3:23/10:50 but the whole video is entertaining and informative with an excellent methodology.

You have to come to terms with the fact that many here have purchased a Multistrada as a comfortable superbike which Ducati no longer offers.

  2. Taking journalists and peoples opinions aside non us can have an objective view until we have ridden one (V4 Multistrada) its that simple. Its not and was never intended to be a track bike.

  3. It seems a bit extreme to write it off quite so easily...

  4. What can I say - I am shallow....

  5. The motorcycle world will probably change dramatically over the next ten years.
Extreme sports motorcycles will be for the weathliest only I suspect.

  6. Agreed. I was set on getting an XR, but the test ride was a huge disappointment.

  7. I have the 1260 enduro, for the higher riding position and larger touring boxes.

Will there be a V4 enduro?

  8. The 1260 Enduro is still being offered in the Multistrada range so I’d imagine not for at least another year or two depending on when the V4 is updated. The Enduro has not been the most successful selling variant in the Multistrada range so I wouldn’t hold your breath but “never say never”. Andy

  9. The one that is for sale now is the Enduro Version.....

  10. I think the Enduro is stil listed to clear out stock still in the system. They can no longer manufacture them as they are not Euro 5 compliant.

  11. Not sure what you mean.
Are you saying the V4 now on sale is the enduro version? If so is it a similar riding height to the 1260 enduro and can you get the enduro luggage?
And will there be a V4 non enduro version?

  12. The Current 1260 Enduro - is still on sale clearing the old stock of them.

The New V4 Multistrada is both the Enduro and Street bike combined in one machine....

  13. Not followed the thread in detail but this sounds like the problem.

You can't convert a sport to an enduro by adding bars, a bash plate and some more lights.

  14. They have sort of made this New bike a hybrid

It is 19" Front Wheel, Twin Spar Swing Arm, Increased Ground Clearance.

Possible to spec with Alloy or Wire Wheel to make it the Road or Enduro Version - then with various accessories..

  16. No I wouldn’t personally opt for the V4

Ive had 3 multis now (Totally fell in love with em from the first - Currently on 2018 1260s) and while elements have changed throughout the generations for me the V4 moves too far away from my personal preference. No doubt in 12 months we’ll see a ton of these out their with great reviews - for me though......probably start looking at the KTM brand

  17. To me (1200 Enduro pilot) the V4 is more Enduro than Sport ... I haven't looked closely at ground clearance and suspension travel though, nor have I ridden one ...

  18. i was waiting for the new v4 multistrada ready to buy but i was really disapointed by the new philosophy of the model.so i bought the v4s streetfighter and i am really happy with my choice.the bike is in a totally different level of sportiness.it really is the fighting formula ducati adverts.
yes i know,no pillion,no touring,a lot of wind.but WHO CARES??take it for a ride to a canyon and then we talk again!
ducati has to make a very big step forward with a new? v4 model to make me even think to buy.

Wow. The SFV4 is one bad-ass roadster for sure.
It's also a nice offset to your 1260 Enduro which hopefully you still have.
    Enjoy.

  20. yes i still got the enduro and its a great combination.i was programming to replace the enduro but now its a totaly new situation.
the streetfighter is a racing machine.not a hardcore bike but a bike which make you look like a superhero.you suddenly ride and turn with speeds that you thought impossible even to think.
