Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by H2pots, May 23, 2023.

  1. So the only rain for the whole fortnight is going to be when the Senior is due to be on, let’s hope the forecast is wrong

  2. Me too, as this will favour MD over PH, but it might level the field up a little for others that are there or thereabouts for the top step.

  3. I'm pretty sure they don't race in the wet nowadays

  4. im here, all my weather apps dont mention rain, in fact predicting 23c Saturday

  5. Hoping they will can or postpone the sidecar centenary lap, if the thunderstorms mentioned on some forecasts for Saturday afternoon arrive, and prioritise the Senior race.
Even if the weather holds it will piss off a hell of a lot of people if one of the old outfits shits itself and causes a delay while they get the cement dust down and track swept.
I like sidecar racing but surely this is a scheduling cock up.

  6. That's shame but i guess the world's watching and safety is paramount for those boys & girls.

  7. Wow, hicky with a 136.3 on a stocker

  11. Mental speeds one a stocker

I had wondered if this would happen, now that the stock bikes are on slicks as well

  12. Just beautiful, let's hope he can bag the Big one tomorrow with four a piece.

  13. I just seen the highlights after googling the results earlier and if they get the number one bike fixed then this would be possible.

  14. Good to see Dean take a step up the podium on the Senior, fast race but Dunlop further back than I was expecting.
That’s it all done for another year. Just got to get back home now, after the problems I had getting here, let’s hope for an easy return trip

  16. just got back, what an amazing week, fantastic weather, stayed in cronky vody, literally 10m from the track

did 100mph over the mountain and then my *hole started to go, car got all floaty, blind bends with cliffs etc

massively gutted though as this place has to be experienced on 2 wheels, was a bit jealous of the bikers, really yearned for mine, felt a bit like one of those overweight blokes with all the tshirts, caps and badges thats never ridden a bike

deans hemet after a days racing

  17. So Uncle Joey's record is safe for another your (at least). I think in some ways it'll be a bit sad if/when it does get broken. I wonder if MD will actually do it. Doesn't seem that long ago when John McGuiness got to 23 (I think) wins people were saying he'd take the record; didn't happen. Roll on next year.

  18. Well, I'm home, TT 2023 was mega. Had some fun rides on my hyper here and there but never made it over the mountain (which was usually closed when i got there) but I'm not too fussed for that, I'll save that for the manx.

What a week for the weather. It honked it down last night while i were in bed, got up this morning to wet roads but not raining. Up at half 4, loaded bike, off up for the ferry.

Watched from the church at union mills, barregarrow crossroads, Glen duff, Glen Helen 2 (helicopter field) and at Andrews in Douglas for the senior.

Roll on the manx now. Hope you all had a great TT.

  19. Things have moved on from the John McGuiness days based on what we're seeing now with the front runners pushing each other all the way with new track records etc. For me MD like Joey will keep on racing into his fifties?, as he doesn't know what else to do with his time.
Also i do believe if Ian Hutchinson didn't have that nasty leg accident on short circuits he'd have shared the spoils with Micheal.

Ps whenever Peter's on the rostrom he's always smiling regardless on which position he finished.!
