2025 Motogp Round 1 - Buriram Thailand (spoilers)

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by Red899, Feb 24, 2025.

  1. Literally fast forwarded to the end and immediately turned over after two laps, and barely anything had changed on the timesheets. Absolute yawn fest.
Thank almighty god for moto 2 and 3 this year.

  2. The one highlight of the whole race.

  3. It was interesting while it lasted : unamused:

  4. So little comment says it all. Ride of the day for me was Ogura. Andy

  5. Fairly boring race. No one will see where Marc has gone this year, clearly already got in bagnia’s head. Yes it’s one race but if he comes away from the first flyaways with a 30 point lead it’s already a good start! Remember by that point Martin will be 100 behind

  6. I fast forwarded that one too, seemed a fairly timid start to the season, is that the effect of not having Martin there?

  7. Totally agree but I did watch the whole race.
Hopefully it's not the norm otherwise it's going to be a long season ahead.

  8. Marquez has got to be the favourite this season surely.

Love him or loathe him Ducati must have seen something in his data to drop Jorge Martin, shame he’s injured.

I think Peco is going to have a lot of chasing to do this season unless he can get past the flag 1st today.

  9. What a shame, that's not racing. Won't be bothering to watch MotoGP anymore.

  10. Eh!? Why not?

Surely that was race of the season… so far :D

  11. Little doubt that Marc is odds on to win. Shame Ducati did not choose Martin though, at least the racing might have been a spectacle.
Yawn fest when MM gets to the front early in a race.

  12. That moto gp "race" was pathetic.

Nowhere near as pathetic as that idiot Almansa taking Ogden out of 6th on the very last corner though. What a little prick (although not the only little prick in that series today - David Munoz lol).

  13. oof (and rightly so)

  14. I reckon Pecco Bagnaia should make Alex Marquez his target. Put a wedge between the Marquez brothers - stop them having the one-two on the podium, deny them that. Alex is the weakest link, so target him and get at Marc that way. Marc will have to watch as his brother gets hunted down and the focus of hard racing.

Marc may win the Championship. Bagnaia should focus on denying Alex being second - and consider that his victory.

  15. Hows he going to manage that 5 seconds up the road? ;)

I very much doubt Pecco has given up the title just yet.

Will also be interesting to see what JM can do when he gets back, assuming he'll be a bit faster than Ai on the Ape.

  16. Just rememberd that Kiwi idiot taking out EOS too, why do Brits always seem to get the raw end of the deal from riders who cant seemingly control their emotions/egos? (although admittedly it was his first GP)

  17. They also said Marquez made up half a second on Pecco through three left hand turns (4,5 and 6).
That wont happen very often (I hope).

  18. How far in front would Marc Marquez have been if he had not rolled off the throttle and let his brother Alex pass him ? And Marc Marquez likes the next two circuits, particularly COTA.

That is why I think Pecco should concentrate on beating Alex Marquez, because then he will have a measurable psychological victory if he beats him, rather than another psychological loss if he is beaten by Marc (again) Also he will beat the rider currently above him in the Championships - with the added psychological victory of getting between two brothers.

From beating Alex, then comes beating his brother Marc. Pecco will need attainable psychological victories, otherwise I fear it will be successive crushing defeats for him.

  19. MM is to be admired for how much further ahead from the other riders he is. IMHO even if JM was fit he would not have laid a finger on him this weekend. Remember how much damage he has done to himself over the years. Incredible athlete.
And no, I’m not a one eyed MM fan as I have stated before. It was clear to me last season he would be very impressive given a top ride. One weekend obviously and a lot can happen yet and yes, I want closer racing. We all do.

  20. I agree 100% MM is odds on for the title, however weve just come away from the first weekend of the season where everyone had been testing for three days as well.
Pecco will beat AM hands down over the course of the season, lets not get carried away.
You also have to look at riders like Digi who was pretty much absent this week but will undoubtedly come good on the other 25 bike.
Lots to look forward to, Argentina will be a completley different kettle of fish set up wise and hopefully spectacle wise :upyeah:
