So. Millau this morning, woke up to wet roads and light rain. Waterproofs on. Decided to cross country to Mende, some lovely if wet roads, exclamation mark (road sign) !!!! Eh? The other meaning is sh1t load of gravel where the road has been 'resurfaced'. No matter, luckily road was wet and unknown so already going fairly steady. Mende. Yep. Very nice. Got fuel, no photos.. Then pointed the bike very roughly towards Aurillac, then more windy back roads to Argentat sur Dordogne, then home.
Going for a little drink? Take a photo of your hotel, a must for me. No way I know where I am staying after a few beers...
Les Gorges du Tarn are an amazing place. Ride them early in the morning, before 8 am. No campers, no canoe trucks, no cyclists, no nobody.
…and not too hot. It fair cranks up later in the day!Early starts essential if you dont want to cook in motorcycle kit.
