3k To Spend On Your Bike

  1. He races a lot but, yeah, he rarely returns my calls or emails a lot and when chased apologises a lot but apologies are of no practical use to me

  2. Agree with both of these but it depends on which bike you're talking about. I had my 1098 SF blue-printed, not because I wanted to squeeze another 10bhp out of it but because I believed that like all 1098s it had weak main bearings and I wanted to armour-plate a brilliant engine while it was still in perfect condition rather than try to fix it after it had failed. (It turned out the the SF engine has 1198 bearings so hadn't the 1098 SBK's weakness anyway... but I'll take the extra performance anyway, thank you very much...).
Then I upgraded that suspension - Ohlins TTX rear, K-Tech revalve front. Fabulous improvement

If you have full confidence in the engine then its got to be suspension first every single time. Power you can't use is far more frustrating than being able to use everything you've got but wishing you had more. So if the engine's a good un sort yer springers. If the engine is a worry, get it blue-printed and make it strong because its much cheaper to avoid problems before they happen than trying to make good after disaster has occurred.

  4. I have all the bits I want on my bikes so I would hire a couple of models for a day and do an 80's style photoshoot for about 1k and see if I could encourage them to 'earn' the rest!
(I might just do this now anyway.)

  6. I've never been a fan of bst wheels. I might look at dymag though. But engine has done 29k miles so could be due a rebuild (gsxr k2 1000).

  7. Worth taking a look at the Oz GASS-RSA wheels if in the market for wheels, iirc they're the lightest non-carbon wheels available. The Rotobox Boost wheels are also worth looking at if you're OK with carbon wheels.

  9. 2002 ST4S Suspension (Wilber) Better Seat. Gear indicator, Temperature Indicator. Electronic Cruise control. Heated Grips. Adjustable bars. GPS intercom.

....Hold on....Wilber is on the Triumph and I could not bring myself to pay for the cruise control

  12. Second hand set of light wheels followed by new suspension and if i can squeeze it, dyno time.

  13. Since I already have magnezium wheels ..it must be suspension + track time

  14. I’d swap the ninja 300 for a GSXR 600. The girl’s got bored of the lack of power already.

  15. Full termi and a set of oz wheels

  17. Engine rebuild by someone that knows his shit. Then wheels/suspension.When can I pick up my 3 grand?

  18. Add the 3k to the bike then trade it in :D

  19. Actually, if he sold it and did that he could get a L8 gixer easy: lighter, faster, better but if totalled more lost ;)

  20. I've always like the idea of tuning older bikes whether it Ducati or any other bike, love messing about with um. Also like like the idea of a wolf in sheep's clothing.
