I got the Vincent at well well below the crazy UK/USA mental hyped up prices.Ok I've got to UK register it etc on an age related plate (going to beg the DVLA to get the original UK plate it was supplied here new with?).I didn't rob the old boy! He knows the real value.Cant understand your comments - have you no dreams or desires to fulfil your ambitions?
The other thing is - if it's such a bargain? I realise it's out of season and its tight for a lot of people with family and kids but why isn't there a queue of Ducati lovers beating a path to my abode with a Tescos bag of readies??? I've been in sales of cars and motorcycles for over 41 years and something is worth what someone is willing and happy to pay!
where was all the 749's when i was looking?. think i would have one over my 848 any day for the riding i do. yip surprised it isn't gone. GLWS
Certainly wrong time of year - the bike will never be collectable as such, but the low mileage if provable would be a good selling point for someone looking for a nice 749.
Why will it never be collectable? Any Triumph Stag, TR6, etc, regardless of version is collectable now. Sure it is no 999R or 916SPS but in 40 years? Not picking, just interested in your view.
A base model bi posta as any bike of any age will always have a value, but not many rise in real terms. Take a 1973 UK spec Z1 - £20 to £25K (some true profit in their for sure) - a later Z900, £5K? virtually the same bike but lacking the rarity (no profit in there from being worth £1500 or so as a 5 year old bike in 1981). Just one example and number plucked out of the air. Perhaps I should have said investable rather than collectable though

Still, it is a fab bike and anyone wanting 'low' depreciation with their bikes it's a fab buy and 'low cost' (not cheap ) biking for a premium brand.
Yeah - I think you are spot on! Years ago in the motor trade we called certain cars "Good publican cars" like today loads of flash for no cash!It looks a lot more than £3495 to me I gotta say but not everything is down to the money? I know that the Vincent I'm just going to collect - if marketed correctly or featured in a classic auction with a flowery description could draw me €17/20,000 profit but it won't cos it's never going to be for sale until after I'm gone! Then the proceeds will be split 50/50 between the Air Ambulance (save loads of motorcyclists) and Mc Millan cancer
Thanks for that! Berkshire air ambulance without doubt saved my best mates life! Mc Mill were absolute angels with another very close mates wife when the dreaded Cancer had her in its grip and there was nothing more treatment wise that could be done for her.I have total respect for anyone who chooses that path because I've always been a totally cold, selfish bastard and a total marshmallow when it comes to serious illness and the inevitable results.Call it conscience money,guilt money whatever? I'm not doing it to buy my way into Heaven! I've known for years where I'm going!!!
If there is anyone genuine out there with £3000 cash who can pay and collect my 749 before Midday Christmas Eve -come get the bargain of a lifetime! I am off to collect my Vincent Christmas Eve late evening so if it doesn't go I will remove advert and keep it! PLEASE : NO MESSERS,DREAMERS,TIME WASTERS!
