^ have to agree with this statement, a ton + on these older bikes still feels like you're achieving something special!
I’m very mechanically sympathetic and don’t rag my bikes. I took the SL to 7k rpm in second just to accelerate a bit, it’s quick enough! It’s very happy to sit at 80 err, 70 officer
And that's why I enjoy my older bikes, they are so much fun at legal speeds(sort of) where the consequences of something going wrong are reduced a bit.
