1200 DVT 42t Sprocket Woes

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by GaryO, May 21, 2016.

  1. Newb question alert !! ....
Does the back wheel need to come off to change the sprocket ?

  2. Nope, it's on the other side of the swing arm. That being said, having the rear wheel off will make re-tensioning the chain a bit easier, especially re-torquing the eccentric pinch bolts because of the easier access.

One of the first thing's I did on my '13 bike was to set the chain perfect, then get it on the abba stand and re measure it and write that down in the lid of my toolbox.

  7. Bradders! I have a little used black Supersprox 42t sprocket that has done less than 1000 miles, the anodise is still on it for £60 posted if your interested!

  8. I'd like to offer £50 ( PayPal gift) if bradders isn't interested

  9. Steve, I'm away for a couple of days, if Bradders doesn't want it I'll contact you when I get back.

  10. Thanks
P.s ..do you compete in a Motorsport that uses the lovely Rotax ?

  11. To be honnest, fuel consumption is more! And also the tire weer is more! But that's NOT due to the sprocket, but due to the extra fun it brings to my right hand :)
No, serious, when riding normal, there is totally no difference in fuel consumption.
6th gear is much better now for cruising. And overal revs is only 5% more, so not notisable

  18. Looks like a 12mm size with a star at the end, but acres with all the disc and speed sensors seems too restricted.

  19. Sorted
