Congratz on your 50k, may you see many more. I've just hit 16k @ 18 months, SHE needs a service but I'm not sure what sort of money it's going to cost, SHE also need an oil leak fixing under warranty at the same time. I get oil over the right hand engine casing, it only seems to appear if I've been on the motorway, the nearer the top fill mark the more it does it, not sure if it's coming from inside the timing belt cover or somewhere around the oil cooler feed pipes. Bugs the hell out of me other than that SHE runs like a dream and is immaculate.
Sorry all for being quiet, I've been to Italy again for the Misano MotoGP and our last big tour of the year. (Now up to 56,680 miles). Yes, mine was a head gasket, the steam came from the end of the exhaust pipe in a bit gush a few seconds after the engine started. The tech said the head nuts weren't very tight when he removed it. The gasket was market where the coolant was tracking into the exhaust port. That was 40,000 miles ago. These days I do my own oil services and share out the Desmo service work. A the 100,000km service should come due close to Mugello time next year, I'm wondering if I can get that service done in Bologna!
