  1. Ah hah! Just found out how to PM.

  2. Thats a tidy looking example you've got there. I'm in agreemet with AL, that tank looks a bitiffy to say the least. suggest you give Baines Racing at Silverstone a call and talk to Geoff as they do a tank repair service complete with respray, as the the chances of finding a replacement tank will be like looking for rocking horse poo.

  3. Thanks mcr998. I contacted them and they gave me an estimate of £300 to do the tank, which is outside my budget at present. Worth bearing in mind for the future, but for now I'll seek an alternative solution.

  4. if AFPU doesn't grab Bradders unheard-of-ly kind offer then a sound undented tank less cap and internals can be had for around £100-120. Of course they are rare but I wouldn't say that rare..

  5. Chris......I am keen to take up bradders very very kind offer and am planning to head off to Gosport whenever it is convenient to pick up the tank.

Everyones help to date is very much appreciated.

I am now armed with a Haynes manual, degreasant, fastglass repair kit, metal cement and J-B Weld etc ready to start stripping the fairings off and repairing those, and then cleaning up the whole bike to set what is what......and also find out why there is a beer can wrapping to the rear shock reservoir.

    I'll post up my findings.:upyeah:

  6. I'm sending you a link to my website via PM........if you use the link, you will find a workshop manual for the 900 / 750 (the 750 being fairly close to the 600), an Owner's Handbook and some other stuff (can't recall what else there was).

  7. My thanks goes to bradders for the tank, which is in great condition.

Just need to get on and strip the fairings off and start work on repairing those.......just hope that the weather improves a little.

Having had a look over the bike everything seems to be there, original and in reasonable condition. The beer can wrapper around the rear shock reservoir was not hiding any nasties...so no worries there.
