1200 (& 620/1000/1100) Meet/ridout?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by AndyW, Jul 21, 2014.

  1. Works for me, its what we do, and better than the IAM method

  2. How about:
Devizes as starting (or somewhere we can meet near there) about 1000 for 1030 leave
    Malmesbury
    Cirencester
    Fairford
    Burford
    Chipping Norton
That place near Bicester or Banbury (cant remember) we stopped last time for late lunch
Head south to Oxford then easy to split west via wantage hungerford etc and east via reading

Sunday 3rd Aug (bear in mind Mon in BH)

  3. I'll be giving this a miss. A 1000 mile round trip for a run a little too far :(

  4. Sorry just caught up with this (too busy with work.....).

I am getting a plan in place for a ride down from Benson to Henfield where a friend is working on some route ideas. But looking like I can only do Sunday 17th August and the early plan is:

Depart from Benson for Henfield Brunch then a little ride heading East A272 or whatever Peter comes up with, then back North. Peeps can meet at Berringsfield (nr Benson) enroute or at Henfield to suit. Leave 8.30ish brunch at 11ish?

Will put a post up shortly.....

  5. Starts off patch. Ends off pacth for me. So probably wont. But if peeps prefer that run cool, I'll sort something out for the weekend myself, no biggie

  6. Guys I do need to check the diary, but I wanna come along, so I'll verify one way or the other tomorrow evening. It's looking pretty good and lucky old me, dead easy too, coz I live on the Devizes doorstep! And before anyone asks, NO you lot are not coming around for tea and cake......:Bag:

  7. Damn it, I would normally jump at the chance and the route would be good for me being in Herts, nice ride to Devizies and ending up in Bicester and 50 mile run home from there, would have been ace.

Trouble is 2nd/3rd is the ONLY weekend me and the Mrs have had free for the last 10 weeks so I said we would please her so to speak! I am away for MGP and immediately when I get back I am in hospital for an op.

Trouble with the op is the doc does not know until he starts whether it is going to be a small op or a big one. If big I am likely to be out of commission for 8 to 10 weeks. If the small op I will be a fortnight which takes us to mid sept. If anything is going then and I am fit then I will be well up for a meet.

  8. Take her pillion...solved ;)

Similar here. Have to drop son in Dorset the 10th, which means pick him up the following weekend, then its Germany, then MGP.

  9. All good AndyW, 2 runs in the offing; Bradders on the 3rd August and Kirky's on 17th August!

  11. not going down the back marker route then?

  12. I'm up for early august ride out, maybe the mid august one too.
I'm based in East Bristol, but keen to make the most of the nice weather this year.

    Deaks :)

  13. Simple rules are: front guy, back guy, do what you like in between. Stop at a junction until the guy behind sees where you are going then crack on. Overtake as long as you don't steal someone else's overtake, and ride like a wanker if you like but don't knock anyone else off or get anyone else arrested.

Oh and if you overtake the front guy no prob, but he will expect you to know where you are going and wont wait for you ;)

I'll stick up a new thread

  14. Doh wait for me.....no mutley at the moment :(

  15. Bring the 998

  16. I might, but need a few 30_40 mile trips first.
Last time I rode it I nearly ended up back in hospital looking for a new elbow.

  17. Just to put a spanner in the works.... Any chance to incorporate the good wood breakfast club on the 3rd :)

  18. :upyeah: I'm in the diary says yes, so are we kicking off from Devizes still from 10-10.30 or what?
I'm also on for Kirky's run on the 17th lucky old me!

Looking forward to a few more faces + names, etc.

  19. if we get a couple more sure..but at the mo I think its 3 of us lol

can head wherever we like, but think Goodwood could be a right trek for Andy..but I do know the best route ;) wouldn't be breakfast when we get there tho lol Would suggest @Multi rider head there for early doors then over to Devizes, its about hour half quick ride, 2 hrs should be easy doable from there

  20. heres a link to the ride I proposed as rough outline
