I had this problem a few years ago and found that 3/4" socket set is the easiest way of getting hold of the sockets, the 3/4" sets are widely available and are not as expensive as many assume. I got mine used for 20 quid off ebay, new sets are usually less than 40 quid, you do need to grind off the shoulder of the 46 and 41 mm ones however to get rid of the shamfer to ensure a closer fit on the narrow nut. Using breaker bars is a quick way to round off the nut or worse and with a rattle gun you can do it on your own very quickly. If the nut has been on for a year or two between tyre changes the breaker bar method can be hazardous at best.
Yes, mine works fine on both rear wheel nuts (Hypermotard and 748). Sometimes it takes a couple of cracks, but it will do it.
