  1. Fair

Ouch! The RS specially would be nice. Unbelievable what they cost these days. 3.0 seem to be coming on strong now as well.
But I guess that goes for all classic cars

  2. The 964 RS is now a very over rated and overpriced car (most have been crashed, managed to crash mine ) Sold mine 12 years ago for £26,000 and that was a good price at the time, my money would go back into a good impact bumper car, a late 3.2 Carrera coupe with the G50 box without the rear spoiler would be my choice. What year is your Turbo?

  3. And now? 80k for a decent RS? Probably over priced from a drivers prospective. It's crazy what Porsche people will pay for something just because its rare.

Mine is a 1980, converted to flatnose in the late 80's. Needs a bit of tlc but it's a fun car

  4. SOLD this afternoon to a father and two sons, apparently.

Did I help them sell it or coincidence?

  5. They are friends of Ducati Manchester

obviously not to be. Lesson is, see one you like. TELL NO ONE, go see it, buy it, TELL EVERYONE!

  6. that SUCKS!

  7. I'm not sure if posting on a forum would make much difference, it's been for sale for ages so anyone interested in one of these would have seen it anyway.

The guy is a complete knobber though. My mate had the day of so went to rent a van and go up there today, 2.5 hours each way. A, the dealer didn't have the decency (brains) to hold until my mate got there and B, he didn't even call to say it sold so if it wasn't for my mate calling up to ask something he'd be driving 5 hours when the bike was already sold!

    Knobber

  8. In my experience about 85% of the motor trade are like this, I was at the local Audi dealer yesterday waiting while my car was serviced, had to listen to the cockney raconteur salesman blagging on the phone for over an hour, listening to all his bullshit, bloody torture.

  9. It get's better! Just called them up, just in case.. So the guy said 'yes, its been promised to someone' but mentioned no money changed hand yet, suggesting it could still be for sale

    Nice chap!

  10. Salesmen! Full of S.H.I.T.E!

I bet its still for sale at the end of the month.

  11. Very strange people. Promises it to fella who walks in but don't pay a deposit, and fobs off the guy who's rented a van and is driving 150 miles to pick it up after agreeing a price

  12. There is a 998s that's just popped up on eBay (dealer advert) that has done 2k miles, it's big money but absolutely pristine....

I personally think it's a better bike overall and they are getting so rare! Still has Ohlins rear shock etc.

Needs to come down in price though but worth speaking to the dealer.

  13. Nice bike no doubt but doesn't excite me. Open to other ideas but it has to be something special, that you could also have fun on track with. think Rc30 would be another good buy but an old SPS would obviously ride much better..

    Hmm

  14. Ouch, 998s doesn't excite you... there is no pleasing some haha

  15. Haha yes, I'm sure it's a fantastic bike but it's just not what I'm looking for  the only testa engined bike for me would be 996r. :)

  17. Or a 998R? they are pretty good and quite rare. The 998S is a good bike and reliability wise and cost to maintain it has got to be a better bet.

It's nice having a desirable bike providing it doesn't have silly servicing issues. Prime point is the 748R, a great bike but new belts every year is a pain.

  18. Belt once a year ain't bad in my book, on my 250 I rip the cylinders off to make sure the rings aren't stuck after a days racing or half a trackday.
