  3. Mines 680 :)

  4. That one up for £11.5k was my bike back in 2011. Sold it for £6k.

Reason for selling? Some idiot knocked me off at Brands. Had track plastics on luckily but still ground right through water pump housing and did the pegs and levers. It was a very expensive and sad day.

But still bloody tempted to get cheap loan and buy it back. Not sure I can face the service bills again though.

    Hmm

  5. Mine was the earlier non-ohlins model. My dream bike when they were first in the show rooms. Not a mark on her and great fun to ride.
Unfortunately we both ended up bent and broken in the gutter

  8. Hi Noods,
You might be in luck bud, I've just bought a Pani R to prep for the track but it does mean I need to shift both my 996R and 748R for some cash and more importantly, space.
I've already been offered 24k (16 & 8) for the pair by a dealer but if you can do 8.5 for 748 she's yours and I can also deliver anywhere on route to get the Pani between Edinburgh and London.
Both in great condition, both UK bikes with books, both in my name, 996R, 52 reg, registered 13/01/2003, plaqued , 6265 miles and has 4 former keepers. 748R, Red and flat panelled, 02 reg, registered 05/03/2002, plaqued and has 7974 miles and has 3 former keepers.
They've been sitting unused in a collection so I'll need to get them serviced (at Ducati Edinburgh) and MOT'd before selling.
The only pic on my PC attached, can do better ones at the weekend if needed.
PM on here if you're interested, if not best of luck with your search bud..............Chris

  10. ive got one already but what a great deal there

  11. Looks like a bloody cracking deal. A couple of years down the line and I'd be snapping your hand off (relatively speaking as would be a few £'s more by then)

I'd be shocked if you don't have any takers for the pair!

  12. Hi Ian,
Porker is at standstill bud, saved up a bit of cash ready for the next instalment but then spunked it all on the Pani, been a boring summer with no trackbike (since Ash deprived me of the 1098r) so I have to build something else to get my 'fix'.
I wasn't intending on a Pani as I have almost enough bits to build another 1098R/RS hybrid but I spotted a lighty crashed R on fleabay and made a cheeky bid and only won the bugger!
I'll put all the R/RS parts for sale on here and eBay sometime and put whatever that raises back towards the glorified beatle build!

  13. You probably have the single largest 1098R owning audience on this forum. Lost count now but is something like 25 so if your expectations are reasonable you should get some takers. Andy

  14. Hi Andy,
Cheers for the heads-up, just a quick off-the-top-of-my-head summary of some of what's coming up from my stash:
Fresh build (Biggelaar) ex-GSE RS engine (GSE stamped-but blank case numbers area), dyno time only.
Brand new Corse swingarm and all the 'unobtanium' mounting gubbins.
1098R frame, raced in Italian championship, never registered, numbers intact and full receipt given but no V5, freshly painted in OE red.
    Front & rear Pierobon subframes
    Forged 17" Marchesinis in black
Competition Systems race loom - some mil-spec connectors but not all.
    Competition Systems Nemesis TC system
    Loads of race body work
I've got tons of other stuff for it as well but as I'm also building a nice 1098 road bike (based on Michael Pensavalle's 2007 Superstocker) for myself im a bit reluctant to list all the bits in case I want to use some of them on the road bike build. You know how we 'hoarders' are!
If someone's after something not on the list just ask as I may have it.
    Cheers for noo.... C

  15. Well, that's the dealer only getting 1 bike now! The 748 has gone to a forum member but I'll let them decide if they publicise their identity or not!
It's ideal for me, a Ducati fan gets a nice bike for trade price and I know she's going to a good Home!

Only the 996R left now but I'm delivering her to the dealer on Sunday/Monday so anybody interested better be quick if they would like to be the next owner of this bright red piece of motorcycling history.
    Cheers guys................. Chris
