  3. Love a good build...:upyeah:
    Looks da bomb homie...:Watching:

  4. So today I put the oil cooler, radiator and few other bits n bobs on. I mock fitted the coolant hoses and started on throttle body and airbox mods. The loom was also pushed n pulled into basic postion, but then I had a bad brainwave. On the last motor I used a HM QS and a PCIII, on this one I wont have the PCIII. Damn, blast bollocks - how am I going to fit the HM QS as it interfaces with the PCIII. I think I am going to have to call HM tomorrow and ask about a mini loom to connect directly into the the 996 loom I am using to run the 1198 motor. It's progress but not as much as I would like. And i managed to break all my dremel cutting discs modding the airbox .

  6. Did you get everything from him ok mate? Why are you cutting the airbox? It should fit straight on.

  7. What colour are the wheels...? ;)

    You may find the 916 oil cooler wont sit centrally in the fairing / V piece.
    I fecked about with mine making brackets and spacers till the cows came home for their tea!
    Gave up in the end and fitted a 1098 unit which went straight in and filled the fairing nicely.
    Still can't fit the 916 V though, but there's less of an 'ole.

  8. I am using a an early frame without the deep V. So for the throttle body tie rods to clear the frame the linkage has to be flipped 180'. Then the linkage fouls the aluminium airbox. Its easier to mod airbox than frame.:cool:

  9. Nice project! Martyn on the Dutch Ducati forum is doing something similar. He's done the frame mod though. Initially he had a 998 frame with the deep V (if I remember correctly), but he couldn't get his bike approved by the RDW (Dutch DVLA). After a certain year the bike must comply to changed noise regs. He's now back to a 748 frame with a 1098 engine.

    Could be worth registering and having a look ;) See: http://www.ducatifora.com/dutchforum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=30373

  10. As long as it sits with inthe the airflow from the v piece vent I will be happy. Time will tell - I may pop some bodywork on later today and see how it goes.

  11. IIRC the testa hoz head doesn't sit centrally like ye olde desmo one.
    I went through all sorts thinking something was bent!

    The 1098 cooler bracket doesn't have the fixings for the V piece, they're on the actual cooler.

  12. Looking fantastic! I love the look of the yellow frame!

  13. Lower fork clamp pinch bolts look a bit, well, tired :Cyclops:

    Lovely yellow mind. :upyeah:

  14. True enough on the clamp cap heads, titanium ones need to be ordered.

  15. Hows tricks matey, looking good on the build front, have a nemesis traction kit for a 999 sat in the garage if you want it, tried flogging it and its gone nowhere, been told it'll work but leave it with you.

  16. A bit more progress on the build. i picked up some 848/1198 coil plug connectors and I need to wire them up Now. Can anyone confirm that the black cable[IMG] on the coil is the ground wire? I have ordered a couple of superseal three way connectors and I will connect these to the 748/996 loom coil cables (2 way) with an additional ground wire (the black?).

    My chain runner[IMG] extension for the mag swingarm needs a little fettling, but getting there.

    The same with the hose connections. I am either going to[IMG] plug the black 25mm Tee piece and tap a block for the temp sensor or wait on a custom 25 mm Tee piece with a 6mm spout for the temp sensor

    The ECU positioning is as untidy as normal, I need to get the side cutters out and reduce the mess of spaghetti!

    Hmmm, I am not sure on the yellow pro grips at all. At the back, the seat support looks a bit scruffy but it will do the job[IMG].

  17. The titanium bolt guy sold me some more tat so they have been changed out. Damn it, shamed into doing bling mods,

  18. i see the crank case vent hose is done in a proper colour...

  19. Indeed, only the first 60mm is in tacky red red though

  20. Mike, the pins on the Coil connector (a 3 way BSK Bosch) are

    1 = +12v from coil/injector/fuel pump relay
    2 = earth
    3 = ECU trigger

    The black lead is the earth.
