749 749/999 Black Swing Arm Chain Adjusters

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by RickyX, Apr 21, 2020.

  1. I have most of the parts for the 999 DP rear sets, if you want to replicate them as well?

  2. Definitely in for that I have a complete side but am missing the other side. I am already liasing with @Jamie Clare and when I can get to my van I will fire mine over to him. If we can all collaborate and create something that would be another result which could be shared with the wider Ducati community.

  6. Morning
Can someone tell me what year the swing arms changed from fabricated to cast please. I’m going to see I can cover all model variants.

  7. deposit sent

  8. It was the other way around - cast arms were first 03/04 and then black fabricated after that.
Exceptions being the 749R which had the fabricated from 04.
@Exige can provide the exact dates I’m sure.

  9. The Black Arm was available as an option in 2003, it's in the DP catalogue of that year :) most people would want to convert to black arms if splashing out I think. Never seen one fitted to a cast arm so I don't think they sold many...

  10. I bought a cast swing arm off eBay for pennies so I can make see if we can make something or that too

  11. Ahh, i have one in the shed you could've used!!

  12. Hi@all,
just a small suggestion from my side...
Here is a pair of original Gilles Adjusters:

Is there any chance that you still produce those 2 small pieces in order to properly mount the adjusters on the swingarm.

I would better spend some additional $ to have them properly fixed, instead of just letting the adjuster hang on the front screw...

Besides that the 2 mounting holes don't make any sense without the additional possibility to fix them. Especially when you're using the sliders - on the adjusters - to remove the rear wheel for example and don't have the mounting brackets... 100% you'll break them, cuz the front screw alone won't be able to hold all the weight...

@Jamie Clare: Any chance that you add them as an option or so?
