I'm a lucky lucky bast^rd. Box of bits for £250 including full 999r magnesium headlight unit (casings, lights, loom) new never been on the road. Box also had exhaust system, two screens, gear lever and footrest, horn, spare exhaust cover, heat shield, number plate hanger and rear indicators. Bought from ex racer...........was picking up the CF fairing I had just bought. Sorry to be so smug.
I have the same issue with my head light unit. I'll have mine powder coated but I am not convinced by the casting strength enough to have it shot blasted first. I might go for vapour blast instead. As for the engine casing....I reckon an engine out job and get it done properly.....somehow.
