Hi, see below. First is the standard pump removed showing the “extra” black wire: Next shows where I cut and removed the black connector. When I installed the replacement wiring, I removed the spade connector and crimped the new black wiring to the old black earth lead into the same connector to replicate how it was originally. This shows the cut loom of the original. Here is the P/No I ordered:
I believe these are the clips I used: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262425607893?var=561223968041 I crimped them with a pair of pincer pliers (not sure what they’re called, the sort for pulling out nails!)
Lots of really helpful stuff guys - thank you. I’d have had the cheek to come and ask for a loan of the tool @Sev but a wee ‘jaunt’ from Scotland to (presumably somewhere in England) - I’m cheaper buying one I suspect. Although, I do still have a lot of tools lying in a room full of stuff from my Dads business (he has since passed) and I tend to always have the tool needed. I just have to Google and keep looking ok. I suspect the rusted out tank I had to replace, is the main cause of this. Might even just need a new filter and, bingo! Have ordered a couple of relays, but that was clicking fine. I don’t have the luxury of having two 749’s but hopefully I will get there. If I have to buy a complete new pump, then like an idiot I probably will. Nostalgic stupidity. Will be after my wee bike trip to Ireland, and @RC1 will probably have beaten me to it - and I will have my fingers, legs and eyes crossed for you. Thanks for all the help. I need to find a thread about the Meta37T alarm. Wish I’d never had that installed
