749 Translogic Quickshift Help!!

Discussion in 'Technical Help' started by Daniel Abbott, Mar 2, 2019.

  1. Just to add mate you don't start the bike to test this

  2. Nope...didn’t work

  3. Just so im clear, Hold pressure on the sensor as if your up changing whilst turning on the ignition and the led comes on for a second, Have you fitted the small earth wire?
    No need to start engine

  4. Never mind that comment on earth, you must have fitted the earth if the bike starts and runs, Don't believe the bike will run without it fitted

Yup, small earth fitted to neg terminal blue and green to yellow and green for push

  6. Yep all looks ok with your connectors, very strange it should be all ok, I just hold my gear lever as if in changing up a gear and whilst holding pressure on the lever just switch on ignition and the led comes on just for the second (led on front of qs ecu) Nothing to do with revs mate

The 749 system is the EXACT same as my 1098 streetfighter and 1098 sbk etc, I checked so yours should work as mine does

  7. I wonder if my coil wiring matches up with the translogic pins although if it didn't surely it wouldn't run? theres a diagram in the instruction showing the +/- crossed but again it does say "incorrect wire alignment resulting in the engine not starting or running correctly" but mine does start?

  8. when I got my kit and read the instructions I didn't think they were that clear on certain things (like what you just said about incorrect wire alignment) so emailed them and they phoned me back fairly quick and went through things with me, first thing I asked was if the wires need swapping in connecters and he told me NOT on the Ducati

  9. yeah I just checked on the wiring diagram and brn/w is the + to coils and that matches up with the yellow and green on the trans plugs...........im baffled

  10. maybe I should give them a call tomorrow

  11. I disconnected the earth and your right it doesn’t start, but that does prove the circuit I suppose? How much pressure does the sensor need? As I’ve got no linkage at the moment I have a cable tie round it but I’ve also tried pressing down on it....?

  12. Defo give them a call, They will sort you out one way or another, I asked a few silly questions when they phoned lol but they were great tbh,
I took a video just now but ive no idea how to upload it, Basically just what happens when ignitions turned on and led eliminates, Best give them a call mate and let us know how you get on

  13. Thanks mate really appreciate you taking the time to help.

  14. I think you would need a reasonable amount of pressure before it would work, it would need to be to be sure you get a positive gear change when it cuts, Did you check the settings are centred?

  15. Do you want me to go check how much pressure it takes to eliminate the led?? be hard to tell because im on the end of the gear lever I suppose

  16. Yup I even lowered the pressure on the ecu

  17. No mate you’ve done enough, I’ve given up for the night I’ll give them a call tomorrow and attack it again the rose joints turn up Tuesday so I’ll be able to do a test with my foot! Thanks again

  18. Your welcome mate, Im sure it wont be much

  19. Just spoken to David at translogic and he assures me it’s wired correctly and I should wait until I get the roses for the linkage because the sensor requires 20kg to trigger and that’s not easy to achieve in your hand but easy with the leverage of the foot pedal

  20. I'm sure it will be fine mate. Let us know how you get on once you have the rose joints fitted. Cheers
