It’s just change the shape of the power curve. the change in figures is the series 2 was due to publishing crank power not rear wheel power. 749S had better Suspension and the ability to change the steering head angle. 749S were mostly but not exclusively monos 749 were mostly but not exclusively BIP my advice would be buy a 2004 749S mono In time series one will be more desireable over the “design by committee” series 2.
