The blue sticker that says Ohlins, at the bottom of the gold forks is a dead give away. I know this bike well and there is definitely Ohlins suspension on it. If you are in the market for one of these, you wont find a better one.
All 749s Ducati's are fitted with this suspension yes it does say ohlins on the rear shock and spring etc and the front folks, that said i have been told by the Ducati dealer that the internal springs are showa but it says ohlins. Have had people come to check it out but no sale as yet. I have 4 other bikes at home and do not need a fifth one, I have owned this particular bike for some years the bike has been serviced and what ever it required it has got. As I have stated before the bike sits in my workshop for most of the year, it does get out for a few runs but not enough.
Without appearing to be a pedant, an Ohlins sticker does not Ohlins make. Those are the original TiN coated Showa shocks found on all 749s'. You can get Ohlins stickers from EBay.
Yes Pavey you are correct, the suspension is showa i spoke to the dealer today to confirm this. I have also found where on the rear shock the word showa is stamped onto the body. They also told me all the Ohlin's decals were fitted on the bike before I bought it. I hope this doesn't put folk of buying the bike. I hope that clears up what suspension is fitted.
