Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by johnboy, Feb 13, 2013.

  1. oh god you dont want paying in kind do you lol :Mooning:

  2. Kind of what?

Knob's made.........all I need now is the length of broken inner from a speedo or tacho cable.

    About 300mm long......

Unless of course your trip meter reset knob is different to the carb models..........I suspect it is.

If it isn't the same, then it will become another remote throttle idle adjuster.......;)

  3. hold fire there al i have found one on a set of fz 600 clocks in the old shed
looks like it will fit with a little modification
had a check seems the item in question is no longer available new

so on with the modding lol

  4. well another +1 to terry at italia moto lincoln got me out of a situation
with a wiring plug for the tps as mine was corroded and damaged
hope fully that will sort another problem :D

  5. I'm impressed with the dedication :upyeah:

  6. Time and money spent, he could have been the owner of a brand new 899 by now!

  7. money spent ................think i might ......might be just under two grand still ;)
if i had the money ..........white frame 900 ss
you can keep the new breed :Yuck:

  8. so onward and upward finally got round to replacing the connector for the tps
well nice weather out after work out with the soldering iron and away we go
cleaned the pins on the tps and a quick job done
upshot engine starts up nice and easy runs lovely and the throttle response seems nice and smooth
still have to ride it yet out on the road with the new engine yet
but want to get the belts done for peace of mind been checking them when running engine
they look like new but not sure how long they have been on engine

so after a catalogue of disasters from crap wiring bodges and damaged wires
knackered main bearings and damn ngk R sparkplugs failing even when new
oh and dont forget leaking fuel level sensors and a bitch of a job to change fuel filter

but at the end of the day it sounds damn great and it aint a yamashitaski
and i wont see another one like it round here
so when anybody says why a ducati ..........i have no idea
but it looks good dunnit lol

think i need to get some sleep ha ha ha

  11. Mine is at the going for an MOT stage now, still need to buy the front fairing and fit the bellypan and need some new mirrors as the brake levers keep hitting mine since I changed the yoke and fitted the risers. Not ridden it yet with all the changes so hope I like it...... it will be mot'd, taxed and insured by Saturday so might gets some miles in myself.

  12. just treated the bike to a new set of ht leads
and would you now it they are exactly the same as fiat siecento ones whoo

15 quid all in and i get 4 although 2 might be a bit short
think i was quoted £28 from ducati just for 2

  13. I just bought 2.0m of red copper core HT lead at something like 80 pence a metre.......

........£1.60, thanks very much, just about enough for four leads........

    Money to burn........;)

  14. ah but i think you have different ht coils al
mine dont screw in similar to a cars distributor cap fitment

anyway if it was a choice of colour think i would get yellow leads
just to match the rear shock lol

used to buy silicone leads that were yellow years ago when you could get them in singles
looked nice on my old red benelli :D

  15. At the same time buying the copper core lead, I also bought red silicon HT lead (2.0m) for £1.59 / metre and the terminal connectors thingys for 25pence each...........four more leads done......

    :D

  16. allright allright ............smug ........wotsit :p

  17. I don't know.........There's you spending your money like no tomorrow and it hasn't got on the road yet.................and there's me running mine until it breaks down and I pack up riding and sell it......

Come on, I'm running out of time here....hurry up, otherwise we will be on this thread in 2015, still waiting for the first test day......;)
