  1. well had a nice little trundle out to my mates house
about 15 miles of twisty back roads
perfect chance to try out the improvements to the head light
altered the aim slightly but vast improvement with the wiring upgrade
    whoo 3 candle power :)

  2. If you want a home for your chopped grabrail Im interested.
    Cheers, Keith.

  3. will keep in mind bud
not sure what I am doing with the parts yet
as have considered doing an odd trackday or two next year
and might have it in single seat mode
but then again I might sell it all
already had interest in the exhausts
    hmm decisions decisions

  4. well its finished other than a bit of cleaning
its taken a while I am just a lazy arse
and dakk sorry I have taken so long

will post up pics when I fit it on the bike (only trial fitted to make sure it actually fits)
now this is stainless right .......so polished or brushed finish

  5. well had a fun little moment on the bike yesterday
used it to go to work ....nothing wrong with that
just when I came to leave at dinner time I got about five hundred yards to a roundabout outside Tesco and it stopped
luckily it started again but didn't sound right missing slightly
here we go again said the voice in my head
not in the best of moods anyway
got another five hundred yards and it stops dead in traffic
gets to road side luckily a parking area and investigates
seems a broken wire from the ignition switch is the culprit
so after borrowing a set of pliers from some builders
I cut and joined the wires and off we went lol
but the best bit was I was hotwiring the bike right outside
the local police station where the builders were
    just found that amusing ;)
anyway stripped the switch of and the wire had broken internally in the insulation and ne had come of from the solder in the switch
rebuilt and ready to put back on
yep ducati making mechanics is right lol

  6. ok confession time somebody needs to give me a slap :Blackeye:
finally got round to seeing to the 750 after having a short lay up ..........well thought it was a short lay up turns out its been five months
well with losing my job tax was out and moving my mother into her new flat it s been longer than I had realised :Banghead:
well the brake are not jammed on but virtually no feel to them front and back hopefully fresh fluid will sort them
next is drain the tank and fresh fuel and check the belts
then hope nothing else is wrong doh:(
hopefully then get it taxed whoo and get back out on it

  8. ok the damn thing still keeping me on my toes lol
the battery has been off the bike during the lay up
    and has been trickle charged
just noticed yesterday it sat in a pool .........damn its got a crack in the base ahh well add to the list lol

  9. Brake issues hopefully sorted by new fluid, however, rebuild kits are available for not too much dosh should you require.

  10. hoping its just fluid needs replacing probably absorbed loads of water whilst its been stood
have not replaced before on this bike since I have had it
so ill make a start there whoo

  11. Yeah it should be replaced every 2 years

  12. I know it should be replaced it hygroscopic
been teaching it for the past 10 years plus lol
but aint broke don't fix .......

    well now its broke lol
brake fluid test should be part of mot

  13. well lovely weather today outside so decided to get industrious lol
started off with my side stand
since I have had the bike the stand has not had a foot on
so finally got round to getting another for it
when checked against each other realised how much shorter it was over the original length one

  14. also got busy with a bit of woodwork lol
still bike related though made a bit of a mess oh well
had a bit of inspiration from arquebus on previous posts

  15. Could have used a thicker bar............Mine is 25mm diameter from a weight lifting bar, with a plastic sleeve so it doesn't scratch the frame........

Here's my front and rear stands.......

  16. 21mm thick wall stainless tube al its what I had lying around
used it before to support the bike just had other stands
not sure I could get much thicker bar through the frame ?..

  17. I see why it is bending if it is a tube.....Mine is solid.

How do you jack yours up to get the front wheel off the ground?

I'm guessing you drive the front wheel onto a board or something, then get the stand in place; then pull the board out.

I never use my front stand on it's own.......I always use a rear paddock stand as well.

My rear stand means I can remove the rear wheel and swingarm without removing anything else apart from the seat and seat fairings.

  18. I have done similar at the rear to work on the back end
only used the home made stand yesterday to see if it works
put the bar through the frame slotted into one stand
lifted the bar at opposite side and got the wife to put
    other stand in place
but yes pushing front wheel onto something then putting everything in place would work well and less hassle
but was rushing I had to get daughter from school lol
I know its not adjustable for height etc but just wanted to be able to get front wheel out
was intending to use with rear paddock stand as well
    for stability

  19. well things have really slow with the bike due to me being
slightly off health wise and a few other things
but still managed to get a couple of bargains off old ebay
finally managed to find a half decent fuel tank to replace the misshapen one on the bike that is full of filler it needs a respray and a small dent taken care of
and I want to pressure test it first just to make sure its ok
the internals don't seem particularly rusty just a little in the usual places
also got another filler neck as well thinking of getting another pump for the tank and building it up as a complete item
so I can keep the one that's on as a spare for maybe track day use .......
all in tank and filler neck has cost me around £90 so not bad
    so far
had a look for pumps on ebay and found some being advertised as direct replacements for £20 odd new hmm
kemso never heard of them anyone had experience

luckily managed to get the tank pad off pretty easily whoo
although parts department at moto italia inform me they are still available ......thought they were obsolete lol
    oh well more work

  20. just a thought I am a piece missing from the tank filler neck
a rubber collar that fits inside number 9 on the diagram below does anyone happen to have one lying around they would be willing to part with
