Thankyou Travellingman, I did see those pictures earlier. Sadly they do not show the area in detail, they do suggest only the bottom fin is shorter. Other photos suggest both bottom fins are shorter. The lug looks pretty high in the second photo but again not conclusive.
I've rebuilt more Bevel twin motors than anyone on this forum has had birthdays... The 2 bottom fins on the rear barrel are the same length, so you need to shorten your repaired fin chap. Steve R
Now trying to fit the alloy block that holds the reduction gear and the ignition advance retard, points etc. Cannot work out how to set the correct timing with the reduction gear.
