I use Silkolene Super 4 10/40 semi-synthetic (athough the Silkolene Rep told me it was really fully synthetic). Although I don't really notice any issues when the bike is being used; if it hasn't been used for say, two weeks; 1st gear when cold goes in with a hefty clunk but the bike doesn't lurch forward when doing it.
