Had to send my helmet back to Amazon too, the sizing is way out. Unless you have a head the size of a tennis ball you don't stand a chance.
already got my refund from amazon, no quibbles which is better than most of the cowboys operating on flea bay
I'm split on Amazon. :/ From one side of the fence I hate the way they operate and the muscle they have when doing so. From the other side of the fence I can get all my Xmas shopping (and more) done in one hit without getting off my cute arse, and have it delivered to my home/office. And I can save approx 20% on high street prices whilst doing so. It's a dilemma I live with
store by store amazon, flea bay and the internet are killing the high street the high street needs to reinvent itself with a lower cost basis, trimmer margins and better service if it is to survive
If anyone is interested, I am selling my MX5 in the Evel Knievel colour scheme, size small. I take a small in Shoei Gt-Air, Arai TX3 and Schuberth C3 and the Bell fits fine. It is unused and as new with all packaging. Based in SW London.
Thanks for posting El Toro. Seemed like a v good deal at that price and I needed a new spare lid. Went for the M6.
I just snapped up a carbon M5X in Large for £150 (!!) It should fit ok as I've had a Silver M5X for a few years now and it's one of the best helmets I've owned for general comfort and lightness. They make a nice pair. Ooer missus.
This week the 70% off on a medium M5X full carbon matte (£149.99 with a saving of £350 against RRP) enticed me to replace my 5 year old M4R. The M4R medium (58cm) was a perfect fit despite my head measurement across the temples being 59cm (Bell say 59-60 is large) but I bought it after trying a few on and new it was just slightly tight, perfect to ease off after a few weeks of use. Thought the medium M5X would be same shell size as the M4R, however the M5X has a tighter fit so the medium is going back (via their returns system at no cost). For me at least the sizing looks to be correct with a tape measurement of 59, just hope the large is not too much larger otherwise it will have to go back too. Of the two the M4R, although selling at over £100 less in 2010 is actually a slightly better helmet - you can shut the air vents, don't see how that can be done on the m5. Another benefit is both helmets share the same visors so I don't have to shell out on another light smoke one just yet. Edit: Received the large (60cm), it is slightly larger than the medium (58) I think the large size is indeed a "small" large which will be tight for anyone with a head measurement of 59/60, and too tight for one that is 60cm
Helmet City were going to get an M6 Carbon in for me to try. E-mailed today to say it is no longer available. Bugger. Amazon having an end of line sell-off by the look of it.
